I'm very close to coming to the conclusion that even post prime Junkyard Dog was a perfectly competent pro wrestler and the newsletter types just hated that he wasn't doing HOT MOVES.
His footwork, positioning, and timing were very good. His strikes still looked good. He was totally fine in there.

So my pie take is there are no bad pies, but some pies have to be eaten a certain way:
1. Pecan: Always good
2. Fruit: Must be homemade. Otherwise bad.
3. Pumpkin: Best eaten cold at 7 am standing over a sink before everyone wakes up

My biggest issue is Hook. Which most people celebrating the result and mocking people upset about it are silent about. Why are you happy the 86th best male wrestler on the AEW roster caused a title change? Explain why this was a good thing or just admit you don't care and just want to vibe.
But it isn't that, they just wanted to see Hangman do more stuff as champ, especially after coming off a long heel run, I don't really get the confusion here, Joe's great! But the time for him to become champ should be past. That's all.
It’s that with a mix of they hate when they’re fantasy booking/headcanons art played out exactly as they want. Therefore, it’s bad. It’s ridiculous.

I'm glad college bball players are getting paid. But these Players Era games in an empty Vegas arena ain't hitting like the Maui Invitational. There has to be a happy medium between traditional tournaments & a shameless tv money grab.
