This. So many Wrestling fans forget that The Biggest Draw and most beloved wrestler in Mid-South, at its PEAK, was Junkyard Dog.
Even in its southern roots, pro wrestling did more to break down barriers than it did to hold them up.
At times when other sports stayed segregated, the wrestling was mixed and seems a key point in the Jim crow journey.

Wrestling in general is linked in people's mind to the south and I could write a whole essay about how certain centrist libs looking down on the south has opened the door for Trump and his kind
