But going into 2026 with zero debt (credit card or other) and no major looming hobby purchases, so that’s pretty cool.

I am counting down the days to that spicy meats and cheeses plate on New Year’s Eve.
I travelled all over town for cheeses last week.
Came to Japan in 2006, and the cheese options back then were EXTREMELY limited.
Like, your options were “natural” or credit card-sized mozzarella or cheddar.

I wish that video game graphics never evolved past whatever the Neo-Geo could do.
I feel that video games lost something important and special once they no longer had to look like games.
I’m imagining CoD games that look like Metal Slug but with exactly the same hardcore fanbase and I love that.

Most of my childhood Christmas Eves involved fights, crying, ambulances, ex-cons, drugs and cops, so I’m not super nostalgic for those.
Also, the overwhelming majority of ‘em were confined to a smokey, unventilated basement, which wasn’t great for the surprising number of children in attendance.
