I think my thing with complexity in transformation is just that I don't want it to feel more complex than it needs to. I really enjoy AMT-01 Rodimus, which is a full sit-down, and things like Reactivate Bee, Legacy Tigerhawk, etc. But I think the thing with all of them is that they don't...

One day I really want an answer to why the four Reactive figures are randomly so much higher quality in terms of both material and engineering than everything released around them. Genuinely just four of the best TFs ever made.

Stepper is such a doozy. Pre- and post-stickers. Maybe the perfect G1 all-arounder. One of the most engaging Diaclone carbot molds, redone in snappier colors, with the gimmick of a Targetmaster, and one with two attachment options in robot mode no less.

When I've said on here "Make it cheaper, make it worse" in regard to Generations Transformers and complexity/pricing, I think Combiner Wars and TR were exactly what I was talking about. Less so the material-quality cuts applied to TR, but in terms of simplicity and articulation.

Ngl, seeing a complete Unite Warriors Optimus Maximus set on Mercari for a little under what I paid to preorder MPG-17 has me thinking back over my decisions.

Hey, looks who's got a brighter colour scheme now. Get one of these. Genuinely a barrel of laughs. Like the barrels donkey Kong throws. Cos he's a gorilla too. £30 is maybe a little much for it but it is great.

Waffling over Flatline, hitting its Japanese release this month. It's a fun niche character and everyone's singing the mold's praises, but I just do not immediately see the fun in the "spindly man inside van panels" design. The Micron Legend original is a gimmick machine and designed around that.
