I am starting the #HBCUgivingchallenge, which is that all #HBCU supporters give at minimum $1/day to your favorite HBCU for each day in 20xx.

We have to support the institutions that have supported us for over 150 years!!!

Jimmy Kimmel isn't returning to the airwaves because of "thoughtful conversations" with Disney executives.

He's back because consumers sent Disney a clear message: selling out our fundamental rights is not an acceptable cost of doing business.

New Mexico's economy is a fraction of the size of New York City's.

If they can enact universal childcare — and relieve working families of a crushing cost burden — surely we can too.

It's just a question of political will.
New Mexico will be the first state to make child care free
The program, which is expected to save families $12,000 per child annually, is available to all residents regardless of income.

This happened a month ago, but I only heard about it today. I encourage you to read about what happened to this US citizen - an ed. professional - at a port of entry. (Normally, I'd share a news source, but this substack has more details & cites sources.)

As Mayor, I'll end this absurd budget dance that keeps our beloved libraries in limbo year after year.
