Exciting news! Graze just got easier. Today we're releasing a new "simple feed" designer to quickly learn the ropes without getting too in the weeds. If you're on the fence about building a feed, it's never been easier to start!

Not gonna lie, I am growing more excited and curious about the things that atproto makes possible by the day. Seeing the number of new ideas and experiments gaining traction right now is inspiring.

Introducing Medsky Topics! It’s a new account @topics.medsky.social that hosts topical @graze.social feeds related to issues important to public health!
There’s 20 to choose from. With the government shutdown and the potential impact to ACA subsidies, you should consider checking out the ACA feed!

Been diving more and more into this rabbit hole. This is genius really. The insane bias that I was exposed to on X was exhausting. Using something like @graze.social allows you to change your feeds to be more aligned with your ideals.

Really well written article, shows off the amazing capabilities of a completely open protocol! Makes me extremely excited to see what future platforms will be built on ATProto, BlueSky is only the beginning.

Journalists are organizers – like political organizers – but of information, knowledge, and culture.
In my most humble opinion, I think journalists _need_ to be using tools like this, on their own terms. It's scary, but so is being a socialist in NYC.

For feeds covering critical moments like elections, this sort of transparency can help prevent algorithmic bias and even preserve trust in the press and protect democratic institutions.
It can’t be overstated how important this sort of innovation is for the time we’re living in.

Also, because the trending feed was open source, it’s easy to find out if it was being manipulated.
Just recreate the feed on @graze.social and use the “debug” tool to see if sus posts match the presented algorithm.
If they match, you know content isn’t surreptitiously being added to the feed.

@devingaffney.com asked for second eyes on the feed def and my first thought was "oh damn that's actually pretty good" because i forgot @zombiegomoan.bsky.social initiated the design, of course. 🤣 wouldn't have been surprised otherwise.
The *most* important part of our work @graze.social is respecting our community members and lifting them up. We approached some of our users to help us design the feed for @wnyc.org / @gothamist.com and @zombiegomoan.bsky.social answered the call. We're *thrilled* to call Zombie a friend ❤️
I got to play a role in the development of this feed, and I couldn't be prouder of the results. @graze.social is doing some incredible things! 💙🐮

@pfrazee.com goes into detail on this in his post below. It’s amazing to see the actual algorithm used to show content on the trending feed, and it’s something I’ve never seen happen on social media before.
It’s all there, open source and easily reproducible. That’s a future I want to be a part of.

this was really awesome to have the feed side-by-side with my following feed for the night.
the only other thing i would’ve liked was a separate unserious meme-y feed so that i could have the verified news feed right next to my hope/doomscrolling feed.
but we’re getting there @proto!
