BTW remember when prediction markets seemed to know who the Nobel Peace Prize was going to a tad early? Toje, member of the committee, is apparently texting buddy with Bannon.

“I just got back from fleeing Comrade Di Blasio, and now this?” said Lying Fakeman, a bricklayer from the upper west side. He plans to move to North Dakota and kill himself.

Firstly, billionaires are not physically made of stocks, if a billionaire falls down a hole and expires his stock portfolio persists and continues to have value, secondarily, this is why one diversifies one's investment portfolio outside of the stock market, thirdly, okay, let's test this hypothesis

Grrrr, still so pissed at Howard Zinn’s dumb little history book of all this American tragedy just to conclude some bullshit like “the cops and military will get sick of it and join us :)” what kind of ahistorical hippy dippy bullshit is that??

I hate this fucking settler ass narrative so much. Nobody looks at the lines before FDR, really investigates what FDR was trying to do, and then the reason why it finally worked (not because of the New Deal). The “good thing” is just super wages 95% of the time.

Lenin had that line about political and historical obsolescence and it feels most relevant now today in the West as free market fetishism runs out of steam. All but 0.1 percentage points of US GDP growth this year was in data center capital expenditure.

One thing I’d be nice if Schatz and others acknowledged is that even judging their hard right turn on immigration in Spring 2024 on its own terms it failed miserably. In July when Harris took over Trump led on “immigration” by 9pts, by election day he led 13pts. At best it, electorally, did nothing

The most shocking thing to me in reading this is the degree to which Trump and people in his circle actually believe the lowest-level right wing talking points, like the stuff they target at total morons like “democrats import Mexicans to vote for them” and “George Soros funds antifa”
