The recent cool factor and aesthetic appeal associated with sardines and hot dogs is a recession indicator. I’ve heard the idea that it’s the current counterpart to 2010’s moustache and bacon obsession, but it’s so clearly emblematic of struggle meals in a way that 🥸🥓 imagery wasn’t.

Although it was borderline traumatizing, I’m glad that I had the experience of being detained and bullied by US Customs and Border Protection back in 2013.
I’m sure it was merely a taste of what is happening now, but it’s a sour enough taste that I have no desire to try to visit the USA.

A few years ago in a freak wind storm/derecho a giant tree limb fell on my triplex while I was in it.
It was a lot less devastating of a situation than you might think, but still I have developed a significant level of anxiety in wind storms. I find myself completely unable to focus this afternoon
