The quintessential example of the pro-Israel motte and bailey in action: it's not apartheid because the occupied West Bank is not a part of Israel, but everything in the occupied West Bank is a domestic issue for Israelis and the US has no business dictating to the Israelis on this.

This is actually good spin, or would have been. But the fact that the Democratic cave happened without even a coordinated, agreed-upon message like this indicates the depth of the leadership void.

The people were on our side. We were building momentum to help save our democracy. We could have won - the premium increase notices were just starting.
And giving in now will embolden him. Things will likely get worse.

genuinely when you're online arguing that the graphs say the economy is good actually, what do you expect people to say? what is the end result you're hoping for? for everyone to stop complaining about their personal starvation, evictions and medical debt because a line is going up somewhere?

Before anyone gets mad at Justice Ketanji Brown Jackson, listen to Kate. Justice Jackson didn’t side with Trump: she issued a temporary stay to prevent a rushed ruling that could let presidents exploit shutdowns to bypass Congress. Her move protects SNAP recipients & constitutional checks & balances

Pretty egregious error from this book: The authors say Swedish deaths fell by 2.3% during the pandemic, proving that the country's lax lockdown strategy worked.
But they misread their source: Mortality is only down if you remove the COVID deaths.

Honestly looking forward to this ruling. Either SCOTUS rules against Trump or they reveal themselves to be as in Trump’s pocket as humanly possible.
Is it good politics to ask the Supreme Court if you can continue starving people?

If you really believed in your cause, why would feel the need to lie to people to convince them?
