Seems real bad that the end point of ~25 years of War on Terror architecture is an agency of thin-skinned goons who will send armed men to your house if you email the government asking for compassion on behalf of someone else.

Apologies. These are not “gymnastics” Johnson is doing here, they are “Pompous Pilates.” bsky.app/profile/seth...
Last bit. I appreciate the informative responses from those more familiar with the scriptures than I. Truly remarkable what sort of gymnastics our “constitutional lawyer” preacher-speaker is going through.

Remember the incident where DHS claimed officers shot a guy because he attacked them with a snow shovel?

Yeah. It didn't happen. They shot him through the door of his own home. And then arrested him. And then lied about it. Again.

And they almost shot some kids in the process.
They just blindly shot through the fucking door.

To put it another way: Jeff Bezos could easily ensure there are no staff cuts at The Washington Post for the next decade, and he'd still have more than $249B in net worth left over.
Jeff Bezos' wedding last summer cost somewhere around $50M. That, alone, could have saved all 300 positions cut today at The Washington Post for a year.

Of course, he wouldn't have to choose. He could do both because he's worth $250B, which is nearly the GDP of New Zealand.
