The Home Secretary says "we have become the destination of choice in Europe, clearly visible to every people smuggler and would-be illegal migrant across the world"

That is a factually untrue claim: the Home Office shows that the UK is fifth, getting 1/10 claims, while Germany gets 1/5 claims

There has never been a clearer example of the fact that we do not have a legislature in the United States right now. Trump tells them to vote no, so they all vote no. Then Trump changes his mind and they all change their votes. That is autocracy. Vote them out!

In country after country, far-right populists offer easy solutions to often non-existent crises, fuelling xenophobia, jealousy, rage for votes. Once in power, they (ab)use their position, serve themselves, & keep people angry while solving nothing. Those who have not yet realised this don't want to.

The Honduran-born Charlotte resident filed a police report after the officers let him go.

Racial profiling, no warrant, no due process; but what else can one expect from a regime committing extrajudicial murder on the high seas?

Trump's gotta go.

You would think that the 8 GOP Senators who are SO OUTRAGED that Jack Smith subpoenaed their phone records that they want $1 million compensation would bring him in to testify IN A PUBLIC HEARING to explain why he did this. But no, they don’t want to do that. I wonder why?

It has been obvious to me that for years they have been happy to tolerate and massage untruths - and it has been their downfall.

Also, our PM needs to counter with truth as it's the only weapon he has left to counter the right wing bulldozer.

Without it he has nothing...

Maybe Keir should demand the heads of major US news networks any time they imply Britain is on the brink of civil war or that we live under sharia law. Or does it not work both ways?

If the U.K. continues to tie itself closely to the USA it will follow them down the road to ruin. Time for Starmer to distance himself & the country, and start the process of rejoining the EU.

Farage says leaving the ECHR is the “unfinished business" of Brexit and that the UK is "not sovereign” while we are in it.

But Farage lies. And Brexit is a shitshow. So, “finishing” it should fill us all with dread.

Sovereignty without rights is dictatorship.

Nigel Farage says he wants to 'raise aspiration' by cutting the minimum wage for young people (currently £10), but reducing tax for young people earning over £100k. Presumably he wants them to just ask their stockbroker fathers to fix them up with a job in The City, like he did.

12 days of work in 103 days.

With full pay and benefits.

It is about avoiding a vote to release the Epstein files.
