This feature was, unironically, really fucking good forum design. It allowed you to express displeasure or disapproval for a post WITHOUT drawing additional attention to it.

It is now fucking impossible to do that basically anywhere because of The Algorithm.

The Cass quote here is so telling, too. Young people don't have autonomy or selfhood. They don't socially transition themselves. The school does it to them.

"Too many times during my review I heard about schools having socially transitioned young people without involving parents"
If you were trying to come up with more harmful guidance towards trans and non-binary young people you would be hard pressed to find it. The fact it is backed by Cass shows how wrong it is.
We are already seeing an increase in suicide rates among trans young people.

Worth noting that in their continued "unbiased" reporting (sarcasm) the BBC doesn't cover how the Cass Review has been repeatedly discredited by peer reviewed studies, that suicide rates among trans young people have increased or, not a small matter, QUOTES A SINGLE TRANS OR NON-BINARY INDIVIDUAL.

Oh god not this shit again.

Is it still heterodoxy when it's being pushed from the top by the world's most powerful people?
NEW: “CBS Evening News” producer Alicia Hastey sends a bombshell farewell note:

Stories are “evaluated not just on their journalistic merit but on whether they conform to a shifting set of ideological expectations.”

From what I've seen, the actual stereotypical trans woman looks like a high school art teacher. I think we should lean into that stereotype more in our media because it'd be funny
You know I genuinely don't understand why a lot of people seem to think that depicting trans women as "gender-ambiguous" or "effeminate males who long to be seen as Real Women but can't" is like, "breaking stereotypes".

That's the dominant narrative on trans women. It's what most people think.

And here’s the absurdity of calling the police on ICE. You’re calling their backup.
New reporting shows local police are tapping school security cameras and license-plate reader systems to assist federal immigration enforcement, raising serious concerns about student privacy and surveillance.
