The special elections are important because they show the breadth and intensity of the opposition. They show the momentum that increases the breadth and intensity of the opposition. Fantastic. Because every day we must increase the breadth of the opposition until there's a new, freer America.

If Dems are smart they will pull on the Lutnick thread.
Massie on Howard Lutnick: "He should just resign. Three people in Great Britain resigned for less than what we've seen Howard Lutnick lie about. He clearly went to the island, if we believe what's in these files. He was in business with Jeffrey Epstein."

This, from @jamellebouie.net is exactly right. And I think so many folks have refused to see or admit what Trump is because admitting implicates them, or their families, so denial is easier.

My first grader (a US citizen) came home from school crying because a friend from class (also a US citizen) hasn’t been coming to school because his parents (one of whom is not a citizen) are afraid of ICE.

Little kids don’t have concepts of racism and xenophobia. That has to be taught. Or imposed.
Gonzales on Liam Ramos and his family: "They're not gonna qualify for asylum. So what do you do with all the people that go through the process and do not qualify for asylum? You deport them. I understand that 5-year-old and it breaks my heart. I also think, what about that 5-year-old US citizen?"

As Ghislaine Maxwell prepares to invoke the Fifth, Rep. Ro Khanna submits the exact Epstein-related questions he wants answered, and demands they be preserved in the official record.

I think there is a pretty clear-cut argument that DHS as named has to go

But people are gonna need to quickly do some reckoning with the realities of what that will actually look like and what entities from DHS will still be around if you don't want "abolish ICE" to be the next "defund the police"
I mean her objection to agreeing to the magic words was explicitly "they do stuff other than be goons about immigration, which will still need to be done," which is the case regardless of what it's called

there's going to unfortunately be a lot lot lot more of this as we figure out what to do w/DHS

the magic of the Muppets is that there are two fourth walls. they constantly break the one that reminds the audience they are performers. they NEVER break the one that reminds the audience they are puppets. this dynamic is the key to their entire comedy style
MY KIDS: so why are there muppets in the AUDIENCE

ME: THE CONCEIT!! IS THAT THEY'RE PUTTING ON A VARIETY SHOW!!! IN A WORLD WHERE MUPPET AND HUMAN COEXIST!!! YOU ARE WATCHING A DOCUMENTARY!! FILMED!! IN REAL TIME!!!

This is just part of patrol. ICE threatens you, points guns at you, brutalizes or kills someone in front of you. Every day it's somebody new in our circle. We gather around them while they work through the stress and fear and then, to the person, they go back out.

My friends are so insanely brave.
Friend who's part of a neighborhood watch group says their car was just surrounded by ICE. Is fine but obviously rattled.

hard to think of a better example of "you may not believe in class war, but billionaires know they're in one" than this
This is bleak: Jes Staley, currently CEO of Barclays, reassuring Epstein that popular revolt against financial elites is unlikely because capitalism and pop culture have defanged social movements, leaving people more invested in consumption than justice.

lol no it won’t — it’s so that they could fucking lie in the reports they wrote, obviously.

Which is what they did!

It’s why they don’t want Bill Clinton testifying publicly. Didn’t want Hunter Biden. They don’t want a fight and they don’t want facts to puncture the facade.

Clinton should fight.

That time is over. No more unilateral disarmament.
