Ryan Grim is a great example of the fact that there are many different types of intelligences. If intelligence was one number that could be captured by IQ, you could not possibly have the same guy losing an argument to an abusive vending machine but also he's smart enough to be able to read.
"I decided not to block it because I assume that would nuke me in the algorithm" this sounds like you are arguing with a vending machine that is also an abusive partner

Can you imagine if the border patrol asshole hadn't been wearing a bulletproof vest? That sandwich might have killed him and/or caused him to smell the meat and cheese of the sandwich instead of just the more fragrant ingredients!
