Is it good when you say "we are not firing this guy" and everyone immediately responds "wait, really? You're kidding, right?!?" so hard you have to repeat yourself?
The Giants re-emphasize what they had previously announced: GM Joe Schoen will remain and lead the search.

Huh, do we maybe think vaccines are slightly more effective in preventing diseases and death because they are also a way of selecting for people who aren't stone cold stupid? Like, getting your flu shot doesn't prevent you from blowing your finger off with fireworks, but I bet it correlates.
In a study following 23 million people age 18-59 (pretty young) for 4 years…despite the fact that the ones who got the COVID vaccine were overall older and sicker at baseline, they not only had 74% lower risk of dying from COVID than the unvaccinated but 25% lower risk of dying from any other cause!

Ok, it wasn't as bad as the Favre-Strahan, but Burrow did turtle there.

Because they've been down for a bit, I forgot how much I dislike the 49ers. I should probably want the Seahawks to lose because the Eagles haven't beaten them since 1927 when they were still the Consolidated Northwest Territory Geoducks, but Shanahan still inspires my venom.

I'm sorry, but if the Carolina Panthers want to be considered a playoff team, they can't keep pretending they have people on their offense named Rico Dowdle, Tommy Tremble, and Chuba Hubbard. Those aren't real names of real people

Insane how much these people hate their own country

I wonder if it will filter out to people who gamble on these "predictions markets" that they are the rubes, they're just paying money to people with inside information and no scruples.
“What appears to be a newly created account appeared to invest $30,000 Friday in Maduro's exit. After Maduro went into custody Saturday morning, that same investor netted $436,759.61.”
Someone made $400K by predicting Maduro's capture. Here's what happened
The winnings come as the rules governing prediction markets are still evolving.

Because the justifications turned out to both not be very convincing even if true, and also were BS and lies, I think people (or at least Rubio and Hegseth) have forgotten that the GW Bush admin did a _lot_ of work justifying invading Iraq. There was generally support for it, at first.
Secretaries Rubio and Hegseth looked every Senator in the eye a few weeks ago and said this wasn’t about regime change. I didn’t trust them then and we see now that they blatantly lied to Congress.
President Trump said on Saturday that the U.S. had captured the Venezuelan president, Nicolás Maduro. Follow live updates. www.nytimes.com/live/2026/01...

Is it good that I'm reading about some guy from Twitter who is insisting he's just the worst kind of religious bigot, but actually making it clear he's a racist Nazi, and he's a regular writer for The Atlantic? Shouldn't those guys be podcasters/right wing billionaire sniveling toadies?
Remember: Lyman Stone is a liar. He pretends he's just a religious bigot with no racial animus but he's ✨lying✨
Who knows but he retweeted the first image, despite the admission of Haitians without a doubt contributing to his claimed (in the second image) top goal for the country

I'd swear on a Bible, but it's been hollowed out so hide a can of soda inside. But the can of soda is fake, and actually is full of quarters. But one of the quarters is fake, and holds a microchip with a 17 hour video, blank except for three minutes, which are the music video to Semi-Charmed Life.
Ok, everyone, what book is sacred enough to you to get sworn in on?
Strange takes on Mayor Zamdani swearing his oath on the Qu’ran. It has nothing to do with church & state. The point of the oath is for the person swearing in to do so upon some text that is sacred TO THEM. Some Presidents swore in w/o any book. John Quincy Adams was sworn on a law book. His choice.

I was at the library yesterday trying to find the novelization of the feature film Sister Act, and I was looking all over and I couldn't find it. Asked the librarian, and they kindly told me I shouldn't be looking in the fiction section: "That is gonna be in the Nun Fiction area."

I'm at 35, which 15-20 of you losers am I subsidizing to get from that median 2 to that average 8?
4/ The median American read 2 books in 2025. The *average* was quite a bit higher — but that's driven by the minority of heavy readers pulling up the mean:

People are praising Vic Fangio for holding Josh Allen and the Bills offense to only 12 points, but Kevin Patullo managed to hold the Super Bowl MVP surrounded by the offensive player of the year, two top end WRs, and a very strong offensive line to only 13. Which is more impressive, I ask you?
