OMG people on this thread seem eager to argue with me over whether these people are indeed "smart."

Look, I'm talking about the best and brightest graduates recruited out of universities by the worst and richest people. That is all.

The smartest people in the world today are not focused on solving the world's problems.

No, they are all employed specifically to grab an increasing share of our collective attention, by whatever algorithmic magic they can muster.

I think that this is the essence of our global polycrisis.

Twitter is an indoctrination tool for the fascist right.

There is no reason to use either. You are not going to break through the algorithm. You are doing more harm than good simply by being on the platform.

On "affordability" and "subscription culture", this is an actual article from cnn:

"Affordability is in crisis. The solution: You’ll never own anything again."

Corporate news media and mouthpieces for the capitalist ruling class are now mocking working class people. Bruh, what a life! Fuck!!

Elon Musk’s Grokipedia is one of many experiments designed to replace human-generated writing with LLMs. But Ryan McGrady says its defining feature is its use of technological power to re-exert top-down authority over information and knowledge. Who is Grokipedia for, he asks, other than its owner?

Influencers in China that discuss topics such as medicine, law, education, or finance must prove they are qualified or certified to do so, in an aim to clamp down on misinformation.

Right now it impacts large influencer accounts (1m+ followers) + bans false advertising.

Friends choose your so-called "critics" carefully.

Its not a binary.

If people do circular citations and happen to never cite the women who laid the groundwork for decades and pay the price, there's a problem.
Who the fuck is this dude who rolled in saying what women researchers have been saying for years? He came on my thread here once to tell me I was wrong about something — I wasn’t. I responded, he said nothing, and disappeared. @alexhanna.bsky.social @safiyanoble.bsky.social
