The far right is obsessed with Lord of the Rings and Musk keeps posting about "hobbits" because modern scientific racism owes more to fantasy worlds and gaming systems than genetic science, and they see both as effective mediums for right-wing propaganda www.theatlantic.com/ideas/2025/1...

Spotify is crashing HARD because of the boycott. Their stock dropped 11% in value over the last month. Let’s keep this going!
Tell everyone you know to boycott Spotify. There are plenty of alternatives that don’t run ICE advertisements and screw over artists.

The amount of misinformation and misunderstanding of Canada's electoral system is truly staggering. So many people think we vote for a leader, think vote count is what determines government, think that the proportion of seats corresponds to the proportion of votes, etc. #canada #cdnpoli
Please stop saying things like "We had to vote for Carney, it was the only alternative to PP".
It's just not true. In fact, that kind of thinking made and continues to make things worse.

If you're wondering why capital keeps burning cash on such a worthless asset it's because its promised them the ability to fire their entire workforce and even though it can't deliver it yet the allure is too strong to stop now
ICYMI: Microsoft’s charge “implies a more than $12 billion quarterly loss at OpenAI, said Firoz Valliji, an analyst at Bernstein.”
That “would mark one of the largest single-quarter losses for a tech company in history.”

Fun fact about the Liberal budget: it includes an impact assessment at the end where the government flags which demographics it thinks will benefit from each individual proposal.
- 38 are listed as benefiting men
- 12 are listed as benefiting gender equality
- 6 are listed as benefiting women
