It's absolutely terrifying that Rustad isn't "socially conservative" enough for these freaks.

Ok folks we are back at it again from 1-5. Yesterday was a lot. Heard from so many passionate Vancouverites.

Unfortunately I heard the mayor say it was a waste of time. But I assure you, I’m listening.
Budget hearing continued after short recess. 157: environmental lawyer (?)Reads poem. 158: raised in east van. This is austerity and hasn’t been asked for. I’ve been lucky enough to use public services. Breaks my heart to think they won’t get same quality. Few people asked for this police budget.

We're gonna build a pipeline for every possible liquid before we build meaningful passenger rail. Maybe it's time to accept that we must be puréed and shoved into a tube in order to travel across this country.

DROP THE PHONE. FORGET EVERYTHING. THIS IS HUGE.

I have called spousal clawbacks legislated poverty for years.

So many will be able to seek gainful employment, come out from illegal rental units, can get married and file taxes together, and more!

I'm crying on the inside for my PWD friends.

My Oak Bay homies: if you care about the lack of transparency in city planning and process, you gotta show up and do something about it.
Public Hearing coming up likely Dec. 1/2- would be great to hear voices that are concerned about the process followed here to speak up. Addressing the false dichotomy between what the mayor proposed and “massive densification” is important. This is not an either/or, and the process is at issue.

The point that the person responsible for the state of the logging industry today is Rich Coleman 20 years ago seems to go over everyones head. In some cases due to true ignorance, in some cases due to ostritch-in-sand unwillingness to acknowledge past mistakes, and sometimes deliberately.

HALF OUR GRANT GOES BACK TO THE CITY IN POLICE COSTS

The other day I remarked to a Boomer relative who lives in Vancouver that their mayor is a piece of shit and they agreed with me wholeheartedly, so Sim has lost even the former-fan Boomers and he's now simply destroying Vancouver for scorched-earth spite is my considered opinion on #VanPoli.

@michellecyca.com don't you have a map of change tables? Might need to update it.
Listening to Vancouver Council budget discussion in the background this morning. In response to a question from @seanorr.bsky.social about where they'll be retracting from the city just said they're planning to REMOVE baby changing tables and menstrual product dispensers to save costs. Shameful.
