Done adding things to the Mystery database for the time being. Everything from NES to Dreamcast is on there, as well as arcade (MAME-compatible), and then some stuff after Dreamcast/on PC. Fightcade and Arkadyzja compatibility is on there as well.

Thinking about this again today, as most of the right wing seems prepared to blow up alliances & collapse the dollar rather than abandon the leader who pays them their psychological wage. And of course! They're prepared to destroy just about anything to preserve what matters to them most: their hate
The far right's plan to blow up the govt comes from the same movement that reacted to desegregation orders by razing their own public swimming pools. They'd deny themselves anything to prevent those they deem undeserving from having it too, incl democracy. Their hate is their most prized possession

Between Mamdani and Spanberger, the establishment of "instantly repeal all the bullshit the last pig put in place" as Democratic priority #1 for both democratic socialists and ex-CIA types is an extremely heartening development.
The first thing Virginia Spanberger did after being sworn in as Governor of Virginia was repeal Youngkin’s executive order requiring state and local law enforcement to cooperate with ICE.

This is the kind of leadership Democratic governors nationwide should be emulating.

I know this is preaching to the choir but, beyond the ghoulish nature of our government to cancel this and other USAID grants, the fact that this grant was roughly 0.03% of what just got promised to ICE budgets...there's no words for how lost we are.
The near death -- and last-minute reprieve -- of a trial for an HIV vaccine
A trial was about to launch for a vaccine that would ward off the HIV virus. It would be an incredible breakthrough. Then it looked as if it would be over before it started.

As the world's *biggest* hater of Uma, the payoff was far and away still worth it.
These two Umamusume fans have combined the game with their Broncos fandom on tiktok and I need you to stick with me for the payoff when they go back to the studio 🐴

If I were hiring games writers I would be laughing like a super villain at my sudden fortune of having Ash Parrish available for work
Breaks my heart to share this, but today is my last day at The Verge and I am looking for work! I'd really like to stay in video games, preferably in some kind of journalistic capacity but I can do PR/Marketing and maybe even a lil Narrative Design. Please get in touch!

Saw a lot of headlines saying "wikipedia is embracing ai" being tossed around tabloids, and I'm pretty sure they were maliciously written to make you feel a certain way about Wikipedia. What's actually happening is that wikipedia is demanding payment for data scraping and the corpos don't like that.
Sure. AI companies have ALWAYS been training their models on Wikipedia content, which under the free and open access model is available to anyone — including AI companies. Agreements like these require AI companies to limit and offset the strain they place on Wikimedia infrastructure.

This is a real low point. This one hurts.
"ICE is out of control and beyond reform. We must fundamentally change the way we approach immigration: it’s time to abolish ICE."

See, Dems? You can actually say it, and even draft legislation about it! It's possible to do!

After ICE agents shot people in Minneapolis tonight, a crowd faced them down and eventually chased them away, despite federal mercenaries and police shooting a tremendous amount of tear gas.

ICE agents abandoned vehicles in the area, containing IDs, paperwork, license plates, and operational plans.

Stay aware, alert, and prepared.

Iceout.org is an informative site where you can see real time witness reports of ICE and their locations: observed, active, and critical.

It is more important than ever to share these resources. Do not ignore what is happening.

I’ve seen schools close for snow, for pandemic, for natural disaster. I’ve never seen schools close because of threat from our own government.

Look I don't have much faith in establishment Dems either but the memo is from Searchlight, a center-right "third way" think tank, written by the former DHS assistant secretary. I don't qualify that as "Dems" any more than I would Yang.

But also yes, the minimum is still Abolish ICE.

Part of why we are here is that there WERE in fact millions of white people who took to the streets in 2020 after George Floyd and Breonna Taylor and others were killed by the cops. So no it's not the case that white people are just out in the streets now. Fascist white people were ENRAGED by this.

If you are not running on abolishing ICE, if you are not running on prosecuting these crimes and those who enabled them, you do not have my vote.

If you don't because you're afraid of losing "moderates", you have my contempt. Because, if elected, you're only waiting for the next Trump to do this.
This is 10th-grader Arnoldo Bazan.

A citizen.

Immigration agents grabbed him and put him in a chokehold.

"We're from the United States bro!' he screamed.

Agents took and sold his phone

And when he finally got home hours later, his shirt was ripped, he neck had angry, red welts, and he sobbed.
