"I'm so, so sorry."

Heather's snot-filled confessional at the end of THE BLAIR WITCH PROJECT is one of the most iconic shots in horror movie history – so much so that this type of extreme close-up became a staple of the found footage genre

Ring ring! BLACK PHONE 2 has landed on VOD, and this week on the Patreon, we’re answering the call! Because, holy shit…The Grabber can ice skate?

Run back the tape!

This week we’re closing the book on yet another miniseries, and biggest of all… revealing the epic journey that lies ahead!

Next week on 𝐄𝐘𝐄 𝐎𝐅 𝐓𝐇𝐄 𝐃𝐔𝐂𝐊:

We wrap up Lost & Found, answer listener questions, and announce our next series!

One common theme among found footage films — many often directly address the construction of their own reality on screen, and RAP WORLD is no different

we just finished a months-long miniseries on found footage horror films and im so happy that we capped it off with the scariest found footage film of them all, Rap World. i mean this without exaggeration, i think it is a truly horrific movie and also one of the funniest in years
Try to remember these times, listeners. Some of the best nights of our lives were being had in parking lots.

When Connor O’Malley brings a couple DV cameras to the suburban abyss of Tobyhanna, Pennsylvania, we simply have no choice but to watch.

SPOILERS FOR RAP WORLD

It took a whole night of (not) working — not to mention Matt’s life — but the Coolbaugh Crew managed to record one (1) whole song! And it’s the worst garbage you’ve ever heard!

Has any movie ever captured the “late 2000s era suburban scumbag” vibe better?
November 6, 2025 at 6:16 PM
Del Toro’s FRANKENSTEIN has awakened. And we may never stop talking about him.

Also discussed on the Patreon this week is BUGONIA, GOOD FORTUNE, SLOW HORSES, and, as always, some truly fascist industry news! Fun!

Rap World (2024)
Dir. Connor O’Malley, Danny Scharar

We've followed through on our threat — on Monday, we end our Lost & Found series with a movie about the “making" of a “rap” “album,” starring all the worst people you knew from 2009

Happy Halloween from everyone at Eye: MF!

"One of the most exciting things for me to come on board [Unfriended: Dark Web] was to try to make a film that... ignored everything I had learned in all my years of writing”

Listen to director Stephen Susco talk at length about this and more on this week’s episode!

for the past few months we've been doing found footage on the podcast, and we're finishing out with screenlife movies now. it's an extremely rad (and underrated) subgenre of horror!! this week the director of unfriended: dark web tells us how to make a macbook terrifying
Welcome to the Dark Web! For the penultimate episode of our found footage miniseries, we’re making Eye of the Duck history and inviting a writer/director to come on and explore his own film!

Join us and Stephen Susco as we sail down The River and talk all things UNFRIENDED!

CONTENT WARNING: WORMS

As @dominicknero puts it, LATE NIGHT WITH THE DEVIL is very interested in “the illusion and inherent dishonesty of entertainment”

Deep down we *want* to be fooled, and the found footage genre is all about taking that wish to the most logical extreme

Users, our world is no longer safe. But luckily, some bearded guy who’s inexplicably named Ares is here to protect us.

This week on the Patreon, we've got a TON of film and TV to cover, including TRON: ARES, TOXIC AVENGER, THE SMASHING MACHINE, and more!

Welcome to Late Night with Abraxas! Hosted by the one and only... Mr. Wriggles!

This week we’re filming one VERY cursed television broadcast in front of a live studio audience – it's LATE NIGHT WITH THE DEVIL!

Next week on 𝐄𝐘𝐄 𝐎𝐅 𝐓𝐇𝐄 𝐃𝐔𝐂𝐊:

Late Night with the Devil (2023)
Dir. Cameron Cairnes, Colin Cairnes

In the 70s, late night comedy was a cutthroat business — so much so that a host making a deal with the devil to beat Carson in the ratings is *entirely* plausible

If this scene from HOST seems familiar, that’s because it is!

The film in fact originated from a prank the director pulled on his friends during a Zoom call that involved the scene from REC where they search the attic with the camera

Hear the full story on this week's episode!

Viva la revolución! It’s ONE BATTLE AFTER ANOTHER on the Patreon this week, and we’re fighting for our lives while trying not to laugh at Sean Penn’s bizarre haircut.

Really, what is going on with Sean Penn’s whole deal in this movie? Listen to find out!

There’s a demon in the internet
We are so back! It’s the worst pandemic in modern history, and we couldn’t be more excited (and terrified) to be trapped on a Zoom call with you (and a demon) again.

Lockdown-era movies have been pretty unimpressive so far, but HOST is a VERY notable exception.

The screen is life! The found footage genre infects MacOS this week with SEARCHING — a truly horrific story of parenting, grief, and, of course, screens!

Next week on 𝐄𝐘𝐄 𝐎𝐅 𝐓𝐇𝐄 𝐃𝐔𝐂𝐊:

Host (2020)
Dir. Rob Savage

There’s a demon in the internet, but what if the real horror was the novel coronavirus we caught along the way?

(Seriously though, stop with the séances already!)

“You don’t always know your kid, and that is never your fault.”

Uhhh… “never”? Really? I dunno about that one, Vick.

But if you’ve seen SEARCHING, then (SPOILER) you know there’s a *lot* of cope going on here, to say the least.

Listeners who are parents — what’s your take?
