Poignant thing in the D'Angelo tribute is that as talented as this bunch is, no one can get that effortlessness that he had. Supremely difficult and special to make it sound as easy as he did.

Man these Best New Artist nominees are mostly boring as shit. Teens have not had enough life to excuse so lackluster comforts. Leon Thomas at least has a little mmph but that song is nothing. Lola Young can’t shout her way to authenticity
