"Why do you have so many tabs open?" -- My niece, age 9.
Thanks to Rufo for explaining why I have so many Scandinavian friends and respect Nordic artists: Their capacity for empathy.
Chris Rufo is so upset about the Minneapolis protests that he is resorting to anti-Nordic racism christopherrufo.com/p/the-curse-...

Honestly the best thing Peter Gelb can do for the Met is run far the fuck away from that Saudi money and admit it was wrong to entertain it in the first place.

It ain't worth the taint.

North American film journalists: When you are not shoveling snow or toasting Catherine O'Hara this weekend, you should be applying for the True/False film festival critics residency!

Completely normal view walking into the Hall of Nations for a National Symphony Orchestra concert.

I'm still like vote NDP but I won't hold that against Hudson and at least our PM is supportive of a gay hockey show (now if only he would support workers)
We’re truly a serious yet unserious country.

White House press corp may not have been invited to the MELANIA screening but thankfully @musicologyduck.bsky.social is on the scene!
Coming to you live from outside the very special screening of “Melania” at The Donald J. Trump and the John F. Kennedy Memorial Center

brass solidarity band performing “stand by me” in the streets of whittier next to alex pretti’s memorial. the crowd started chanting “the people united will never be defeated” so they incorporated it into the song. i love minneapolis

People don't realize that the tax records of nonprofits are public and anyone with internet can see the Kennedy Center has not been running deficits.

Right wing nut jobs: Mamdani is going to impose Sharia law on NYC.

Actual Mamdani: please stay warm by reading the free hockey smut available at your local public library.
I’m crying from laughing so much at this. Same as the guy with the yellow folder who is clearly trying to not crack up.

(I love our Mayor)

Didn't get a mention in the Post, but I know from a Hill staffer that my @Washingtonian.com coverage of Holmes Norton's disturbing appearance at Arena Stage last spring stimulated the she-needs-to-step-aside discourse.

Every time I think about it, I can't believe that Ragtime is currently on Broadway.

A story about the promise of America in spite of the deadly reality of this nation.

Always timely, but, right now, heartbreakingly so. I don't know how they do it eight times a week, but I am glad they do.

Is there a better feeling in the world than realizing you once saw the mother of a HEATED RIVALRY actor play Lady Gay Spanker at @stratfest.bsky.social?

There is not. Not in 2026

You know who's not surprised that WICKED: FOR GOOD received no Oscar nominations? My 10-year-old niece, who said of the sequel, "It's trash."
