Get ready for The Year of the Fire Horse.

Fire Horse, like as in Heated Hung-like-a-horse-Ilya Rozanov?
I'm READY!

"This high-energy year is all about passion, rapid change, and fierce independence."
If that's not Ilya, I don't know what is.
February 17, 2026 at 3:52 AM
ok FINALLY started Boots. Seems pretty good so far but also NOT the energy I need right now.

May need to visit The Cottage in between each episode.

Americans shut the fuck up about Farenheit being more "useful" challenge. I get that you understand it but to the rest of the world, it's completely incoherent.
Celsius is the scientist temperature measurement in that it’s the most conceptually coherent , Fahrenheit is the engineer temperature measurement in that it’s actually optimized to be useful for it’s main use case of communicating everyday temperatures.

An amazing film. Prob the best of that year.
I knew almost nothing about Asghar Farhadi’s A SEPARATION apart from its strong reputation. I was not prepared for how wrenching it would be, right up to its devastating ending. If Ibsen were Iranian

this brave woman, speaking out against feeding hungry seniors in need who put their trash in her building's bins in the back. if only more Karen's spoke up so we can keep our bins clean and empty and seniors stomach's just as empty.

Saw Crow's Summer and Smoke, who put two of my favourite breakthrough actors of recent years together, bahia watson and Dan Mousseau. Reconfigured in an in-the-round staging, which mostly works in mostly incredibly lit scenes and sets. A good solid revival of a lesser staged Tennessee Williams play.

not to toot my own car horn but I guess I'm the gaysian unicorn... (good driver, good parker, good b.....)
I feel like you can be either a good driver or a good parker but not both, although you can be both a bad driver and a bad parker

not just first run but saw opening day:

Eyes Wide Shut
Batman and Batman Forever
Jurassic Park
Have asked this before and always like the responses. What are your biggest “I saw that in the first run cinema” flexes? Couple of mine:

Transformers: The Movie (1986)
Batman: Mask of the Phantasm (1993)
Office Space (1999)

Also watched Fountain of Youth and last week. The Greatest Beer Run Ever. Both movies I did not realize existed nor had such amazing starry casts.

But had access to those Apple TV movies so figured I'd watch while I can. Both fun.

But why does every Apple movie look exactly the same?

There is no reforming this. There is only abolition, and then trials.
On Thanksgiving, the immigrant children held at the Dilley detention center gathered in the gym for what they thought was a holiday feast.

The kids salivated over a spread of turkey, sandwiches, pastries and pies, a family told me.

But the food wasn’t for detainees — it was for the staff.

This this a thousand times this.

The foundation of almost every problem we have is a wealth inequality problem (which also ties into this country’s particular history of racism and white supremacy).
AOC: "Extreme level of wealth inequality leads to social instability and drives authoritarianism, right-wing populism, and really dangerous domestic internal politics. That is a direct outcome of the failure of democracies over decades to deliver."

Also watched Roofmsn. Terrible title. Good move and I like when Channing Tatum plays regular guys. They need to make more of these mid range budget drama movies again about "regular" people.
Also quite the ensemble. Quite stacked.

Ok watched F1 only because of the Oscar noms butwhole as formulaic as you'd expected, was much better than I expected.

Kerry Condon. Cause Kerry Condon.

One GEO group ICE camp saw a profit increase of $254 million last year.

That’s why there’s a quota.

That’s why ICE grabs anyone they can get their hands on.

That’s why they’re about to spend over $30 billion to build camps around the country.

It’s a money making machine.
Owner of Michigan ICE detention center reported $254M profit last year
GEO Group's profits soared last year as it opened four new immigration detention centers, including a largescale 1,800-bed facility in Northern Michigan.
