Those of you who believe in mortal sin ought to recognize this for what it is.
“‘If a fire occurs in the cabin ... don’t check on the immigrants. Just make sure that you and the guards and the people that work for the government get off," one flight attendant was told.

“It was as if the detainees’ lives were worthless,’” said another.

This operation cost so much more than fifty million.
RUBIO: He is a fugitive of American justice with a $50 million award. I guess we saved $50 million.

TRUMP: We should make sure. Don't let anybody claim it. Nobody deserves it but us.

I predict 2026 will be the stupidest year in US history. Not stupidest thus far. Like after this year there will never be a year this stupid again.

This is exactly the fear of friends in Taiwan. It signals a free-for-all for authoritarian whim.
"By proceeding without any semblance of international legitimacy, valid legal authority or domestic endorsement, Mr. Trump risks providing justification for authoritarians in China, Russia and elsewhere who want to dominate their own neighbors."

No, closer.

I have a New Year’s secret for you.

It’s this:

If you care about people you don’t even know, and try to live your life that way, you are absolutely beautiful no matter what you look like.

What was your biggest impact on the Internet?

Apocryphally, I produced a digital artwork that was hosted in a long gone fantasy-science fiction online gallery that inspired one years theme for Burning Man in the early 2000s.

So some of us unfortunately do evil inadvertently.
What was your biggest impact on the Internet?

I sent a single song to @choochoobear.bsky.social that made him cry so hard he put it into his comic strip.

The comic strip helped push the artist's career in a big way.

The artist later wrote a song for Something*Positive.
What was your biggest impact on the internet?

I destroyed anime. All of it. It doesn't exist anymore.

"I don't want any shit in my punchbowl" may not drive user engagement because it isn't a controversial statement, but on the plus side, there's no shit in the punchbowl.
Moderate positions aren't popular online because they're the equivalent of thinking there's a reasonable amount of shit to have in the punchbowl.

This is true and I was the only one on set excited about it (and playing the song on my phone to blank stares)
Just watched the new Knives Out and I think it's really important you know that the scene in the Seminary's Gym is filmed in the same place Rick Astley filmed the music video for Never Gonna Give You Up.

I saw the window tracery and immediately made my friends pause the film so I could tell them.

An essential development over the past decade-plus is that the ignorant went from feeling chastened when their ignorance was revealed to banding together and deciding that, actually, they were right. They might disagree at times, but they agreed that ignorance itself was an indicator of trust.
