This sort of smug, dismissive superiority from pundits - "oh, you were naive to think anything could be better" - is defeatist and lazy. There are a million different ways the world isn't the way it should be. That is an invitation for improvement! Use your platform to rally people for change!
This happens with*everything* now. No matter how grave the crime or one-dimensional the injustice, after four days the hivemind of American punditry decides that the Real Story is how the people upset about it are the real villains.

I called my senators again to make it clear this is not good enough.

We need firm commitments to abolish ICE and DHS. We can't settle for meager reforms ICE can just ignore.

These 'reforms' won't stop ICE executions.
SCHUMER says Democrats are “united” behind three DHS reforms

1/ End roving patrols; tighten the rules on warrants and require ICE to coordinate with local authorities.

2/ Enforce accountability; a uniform code of conduct.

3/ Require masks off, body cameras on, agents carry ID.

Philip I am an elder caregiver, in very rural very red Colorado. All of my clients are veterans in their mid to late '80s or older.

Every single one of them, believe with their whole being, that they are having an actual conversation with Donald Trump in these emails. Every one of them.

Who’s next?

One demotion cannot detract from accountability.

Greg Bovino and Trump’s agents must still be held responsible for the killings and the damage they’ve done to America.

There’s no need for deep analysis of why Dems want to increase ICE funding.

It’s simple. You’ve been lied to and they are one and the same with Repubs.

Feel the sting and move forward like a grown up.

Back when I lived in NYC there was a joint on St Marks Pl where you'd sit at the grill and they'd serve up sliders and milkshakes, with rap on the stereo and CSGO matches on the TVs more than once. It turns out that making a restaurant that targets me personally is not a viable business strategy

For months, Trump’s DHS has wreaked lawless havoc in our neighborhoods. Tear gassing infants, families, and police. Firing their weapons at peaceful citizens. Killing innocent people.

It’s brutal, unconstitutional, and out of control.

It must stop.

Kristi Noem must go. Now.
