I saw someone post that 2026 is going to be their "main character year". I can't think of anything worse.

Since I was laid off in June and plunged into the most oversaturated and brutal job market of the last 50 years (probably). I have managed to scrape and hustle and keep my head above water, and not give into despair. I call this a win.
I think more than achievements we should start asking what did we overcome this year
did you survive your way through grief? did you manage to overcome a bad habit? did you get help when you needed it? did you support your community? even just *being* here after a whole year is worth being proud of
