Don't want to yuck anyone's yum, but if these people lived truer to their kinks they'd be less toxic and destructive to everyone around them. If they put the same energy into sexual fulfillment they did into stripping rights away and killing brown people, they'd be happier!
LOLOL. @dfriedman.bsky.social found that the Goodreads page tied to an email of a key Whiskey Pete advisor: it sandwiched Whiskey Pete's book between books about wife swapping!

He's the skull of a 13th-century Dominican friar with a chip on his shoulder.
He's an overworked presbyterate official just trying to make it to the weekend.

Together, they fight crime.

Data centers don't pay their power bills, you do. Your electricity bill goes up, it gets hotter where you are, and there's not enough water anymore so if you pay for water, that goes up too. And the rich get richer, passing the costs on to you. #MakeBillionairesAfraidAgain #CorporationsAreNotPeople

Houses are expensive because billionaires gobble up homes and fix the rent or turn them into Airbnbs. The billionaires want you to think immigrants are buying up all the property.

Anyone use, or got family who uses, a chat app called Wizz? Like, is this a real thing?

also always deeply funny that every sci-fi video game from 1999-2014 was trying to be Aliens, and copied everything except the...working class woman protagonist
Everyone imitates Tolkien all the time except when it comes to the one way it would really matter: making the protagonist of your novel for children a short, fat, 50-year-old man who doesn't want to do anything.

Whoa … this is really strange.

Federal law enforcement managed to confiscate almost two tons of cocaine, and arrest 3 suspects, without blowing the boat out of the water or killing anyone.

My ten cents is that newspapers should stop calling it a drug boat if there was never any evidence presented of it being a drug boat.

"All is lost" narratives are popular because people generally do not want to take action. Taking action is tiring so if all is lost, you are off the hook. Nothing is more seductive than not having to do anything.

If you may feel a sensation of vertigo, congratulations! You can perceive the yawning, technofascist void beneath American civilization that is LLMs!

Running out of time, the admin brute-forced a bunch of tower pings and found someone they could blame.
This is VERY rough. But here's a Google map showing the towers Robert Cole's phone pinged on, per complaint, and the FBI map on where the pipe bomber was caught on surveillance.

Writing Project has taken another sudden turn, and I am re-writing this world for a third time... but it's better than before? I feel like I should give it a rest and focus on other worlds... let this newest iteration marinate a bit.

The numbers in here are hilarious.

Do you use AI on the job?
Execs: 87%
Managers: 57%
Workers: 27%

Planned investment by 2030: $5T
"Necessary" annual revenue to justify that spend: $650B
Current annual revenue: $50B
Three years into the generative-AI wave, demand for the technology seems surprisingly flimsy
Investors expect AI use to soar. That’s not happening
Recent surveys point to flatlining business adoption

Part of the 30% cut that Valve takes is the implicit agreement that they'll protect developers from the hassle of dealing with individual payment providers, and if they're not actually willing to go to bat for us, why are we paying them so much again
Saw someone cite the Collective Shout thing and payment processors in regards to the Horse situation and say "Valve can't fight them by itself", and I think we maybe shouldn't be defending multi-billion dollar companies for arbitrary takedowns of artistic works and acting like they're the little guy
