Just a girlypop trying to get by
When I literally cannot bring myself to stand in the kitchen for more than 10 minutes:
1. Frozen veggie fried rice from TJ's ($3) and a scrambled egg in sesame oil and soy sauce
2. A bag of frozen mixed veggies cooked with a jar of pasta sauce and any pasta, add a can of white beans for protein
What's your favorite low effort meal?

When I was in 8th grade learning political history my teacher had us rank policies 1-10 in a left-to-right layout. Except the left, or #1-#4, were conservative. When I told my dad, he raised his eyebrows, explained it was backwards, and said "he's teaching you that conservative is ranked higher."
One teacher told us “apartheid was good for S Africa;” another lectured that FDR “ruined the country” by making Americans “lazy;” yet another wld force us to watch Alan Greenspan lectures and preface them by saying “now that’s a smart Jew” (the teacher ofc was not Jewish)

Are they gay, or are they just two well-dressed boys being dramatic in the Trader Joe's?

Something very very weird happened during the Hugos award ceremony... It's been on my mind for days, and so I wrote this blog: "When People Giggle at Your Name, or the 2025 Hugo Awards Incident"

$500 to go, I was able to charm us into an extra hour of leniency. Our new deadline is 1pm PST!
We only need $1.6k more today (between this link, in-store sales and online sales using PayPal) to make a payment and avoid another late fee on our survival debt! SO CLOSE!

As a recovering catholic with a deeply complicated relationship with faith, this book is the most powerful vehicle of self-reflection I've ever read, strangely comforting and affirming in its particular horror.

And come on, it's 30% off.
There's no bunnies in this story...

Is it getting hot in here? The Harrowing of Hell by @evandahm.bsky.social is 30% off now through the 20th!

Yes! Maintenance is necessary in all aspects of life, even if you don't live in a space station megacity. If we must spend so much of our lives doing it anyways, why not make it a source of community and joy?
Plotting how to realize this fictional holiday with my friends. Making and bestowing sweet little rewards and centering community to brighten the crappy but necessary work of annual maintenance? Enlightened.

Hot take: GOOD. They were too corporate for comfort anyway. I dont want giant floats and backup dancers for Target, just give local trans women roller skates and confetti and let em loose.

A lesson from an old boxer, AND a guy whose been in politics, AND an attorney:

If you think you're gonna lose, you're probably right.

A lot of good can happen if you take a breath, put your mouthguard in, and fight.

Kinda miss big webcomics starting out like a shitpost, and then 13 chapters later, the characters challenge god and their own existence.
