Hi friends! I'm usually a lurker on here, but as folks in Minneapolis work to keep each other safe, my friend who runs a food bank there is looking for more support to continue food distribution operations. If anyone can spare a donation, it would be much appreciated!

Humans have emitted 2750 gigatons of CO2 since the industrial revolution from burning fossil fuels and land use change. To put this in perspective, this is more than the (dry) mass of all living things on earth and everything humans have ever built combined:

From wildfire warnings to flood forecasts, NCAR's research impacts everyone in America.

President Trump's attempt to dismantle it for political vengeance is beyond reckless.

We will fight against this dangerous scheme every step of the way.

I am so incredibly tired of this “war” on climate and weather and research and science. If you don’t think these decisions are impacting you, I promise they are.

It appears that the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) has, within the past week, scrubbed a large amount of climate change content from its official website, as well as *removed human-caused warming* from the discussion on its "causes of climate change" page.

Another stand-out season for me - the amount of time spent by hurricane tracks over extra-warm sea probably the 5th highest year since the 1950s, behind the "big" years of 2023, 2024, 2010 and 2005. We just got lucky with the landfalls again...

For any unfamiliar with the quality of journalism at Teen Vogue, it's well known for hard-hitting stories on "politically sensitive" topics including climate.

Then there's CBS: the only major network to increase climate coverage in the last few years. They just axed nearly their whole climate team.
I was laid off from Teen Vogue today along with multiple other staffers, and today is my last day.

certainly more to come from me when the dust has settled more, but to my knowledge, after today, there will be no politics staffers at Teen Vogue.
