All these other cities are like “we’d do x, y, and z to ICE, we’d be way more badass than Minneapolis” and as a Minneapolitan I have to tell you this is a weird fucking thing to be competitive about, it is an absolute hell and a really bleak thing to be fantasy role playing.

Also [transplant voice]: People saying Philly fans light city busses on fire when they win. Well, you don’t know how Minnesotans would act if their teams ever won.

If you live in the Cities, an easy way to help immigrant families in hiding is: laundry! Laundromats are ICE magnets, so people without washers need help.

The People’s Laundry will drop off laundry to your door to wash and dry and pick up a few days later:

Day in and day out, I'm having a harder and harder time justifying the existence of or loyalty to Democratic Party leadership. It's been growing for years. Their actions to me read like constant sabotage.

HOST: how will you pay for it?

OFFICIAL: tariffs

HOST: critics say tariffs don't generate acid vat money

OFFICIAL: tariffs have generated more money than has ever existed

HOST: thank u for ur time

Further solidifies my long-running theory that Republicans actively want to burn down civil rights and democracy. Democratic leadership differs only in that they want a controlled burn, and have zero qualms about punching down and punching those who are doing the work.

Absolute fucking zombies.

Don’t listen to this political strategist. There are literal families who are starving, people who do not have enough for rent, businesses with eviction letters, and neighbors who are hiding.

Help communities out instead and it will actually have an impact.
I've launched a campaign to raise money for the Democratic Party of Minnesota (@dfl.org) to help them combat ICE's lawless assault. MN Dem Chair Richard Carlbom joined me for the kickoff. Learn more, donate, and let's rally for the courageous people of Minnesota, together! 👇

as it is particularly cold in Minneapolis and we hear scary rumors, I want to highlight a few groups.

MIWRC is operating a warming facility to make sure unhoused people are not on the street, especially during the hours traditional shelters are closed.

ICE actions are not a radical break but an intensification and extension of bipartisan consensus on the need for punitive immigration policy. Since its post-9/11 creation, people have warned that the tools given to ICE would eventually be turned on citizens.

There was a lot of people who had to work serious hours outside in the cold today for *that*? Sir you can pay people to humiliate you in the comfort of your own home. Spare us the logistics next time.
