RIP Scrappy-Doo. All the obituaries will lead with how “annoying” he was for three years in his twenties, but I’ll remember the sweet, frail old man who’d wink at me when I asked “Seen any ghosts lately?” as we passed in the hallway, him on his way outside to shit in the street.

Begob. Never knew this fella was gay. There you go now. As you were.
Really proud to be the LGBT+ Trailblazer of the year.

And so proud of the real trailblazers - like my boyfriend - who works in palliative care.

Our NHS workers, our teachers, our cleaners.

The people who keep our country running.

And LGBT+ History month matters. Representation matters.

Couple of Irish cousins over to stay. I asked if they'd like me to cook a curry this evening. One replied "that stuff would drive shite out of a rocking horse".

My two pet peeves about the current @irishtimes.com style guide is that they still use the imperial system of measurements despite Ireland having gone metric in 1970, and that they use the term 'South Dublin' to refer to anywhere in the brown or green bits.

Accents and dialects are fascinating to me (I'm a bore). In Ireland, with someone speaking English, you can typically tell they're from within maybe 20KM radius. I am aware of the broad British English language accents as well. What fascinates me is if Spanish speakers can do the same.

Blaming the weather man for the weather while spending the last 4 decades willfully ignoring climate science to the extent we face billions in fines because of EU emissions rules. A government of out and out grifters and clowns.
Minister James Browne said Met Éireann needs to make a 'judgement call' rather than solely relying on mathematical formulas when it comes to issuing weather warnings jrnl.ie/6940649
Housing Minister criticises Met Éireann for 'withholding information' on severity of floods
The flooding mainly affected Co Wexford, Co Wicklow, and south Dublin.

You didn’t know it at the time, but one day you dropped a movie back at a video rental place and never rented another one ever again.

There's a fella power washing the ground at the Dun Laoghaire Baths *literally* as the waves are throwing water sand and rocks all around him. I'm still not sure whether this is a display of dedication, humility, or futility. King Canute had nothing on this lad. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/King_Cn...

Gruel on Dame Street in Dublin was great. Occupied that space between fast food and sit-down restaurant meals that was so underserved in the 00s. Perfect for a youngfleh in his 20s/30s.

please tell me about your favorite lost restaurant (closed for at least 5 years, like I really want you to go back into the vault), why you loved it and what you ate there
