Before knowing all the facts, voices on the right are now exploiting the tragic death of Charlie Kirk & calling for all-out war on the left. This is sad, but not surprising, at a time when we should all be denouncing political violence. They were not so upset when Minn. Democrats were assassinated.

Charlie Kirk called me a ‘lunatic’ and a ‘prostitute’ and demanded I be deported.

Nothing, *nothing*, justifies killing him, or robbing his kids of their dad.

We don’t know the identity or motive of the shooter but murder can *never* be the response to political disagreements.

Today is yet another sad day for America.

Our political landscape filled with hate instead of love and humanity and it must change. It cannot go on like this, it is unsustainable. 1/3

Today in history, 1970: As many as 20,000 women protest in the Women’s Strike for Equality in New York City, with more throughout the U.S. The event was held on the 50th anniversary of the certification of the 19th Amendment, giving women the constitutional right to vote. /1

That got us wondering: How would those governors feel if National Guard troops from other states were ordered onto their streets, perhaps to patrol one of the 53 cities in those states with a higher murder rate than Washington’s?

So, we asked them.

The best, most accurate look at the DC occupation is coming from the locals: local news & local residents capturing violent arrests, peaceful protests, safe tourist spots overrun with bored troops. It's a powerful reality check on Trump propaganda.

Our unaccountable Supreme Court gave our unaccountable president the power to effectively end the Department of Education.

And it did so without any explanation because the case came through its secretive shadow docket.
