i went to a catholic easter vigil last night for a friend getting baptised and they had 11 people getting baptised + 2 getting confirmed so they went very hard on the baptism aspect in the readings/homily. which made sense, but it ended up feeling like an odd sort of conclusion to the triduum +

once again catholics have the right idea doing good friday at 3pm (at least in aus where it's a public holiday). that just feels thematically appropriate. none of this 9am nonsense.
