Finished reading @sarahgailey.bsky.social's Have You Eaten and I've never been closer to crawling back to my lesbian book club. I imagine it'll pass eventually but right now, unless someone is paying me, I only want to be around queer/trans people for the rest of my born days.
@sarahkendzior.bsky.social Welcome back! Or, Sorry for the return of this horrid plague! depending on the discourse of the hour.

You GOTTA stop being so desperately afraid of the audience. Look at me. Look in my eyeballs. Stop being so desperate for approval. Stop writing for the whiny babies in your audience and start writing for the freaks who like cool fucked up shit

The room is
almost all
elephant.
Almost none
of it isn’t.
Pretty much
solid elephant.
So there’s no
room to talk
about it.

I've been saving money for a lawyer in case Kim Davis got my marriage nullified, but I guess I'll give some cash to MTUG to buy some STL trans folks groceries instead. #PettyCrocker

One of my favorite co-workers isn't so good at electronic comms and she signs off all her always all caps emails with THANK YOU MARY and it's been almost ten years and I will never stop reading this in the voice of Tina, Martha Plimpton's character in the 1998 John Waters classic PECKER. 🌈

50 years ago today, Nov. 10, 1975, the Edmund Fitzgerald sank beneath the waves of Lake Superior during a massive storm.
The sinking took the lives of all 29 men on the ship, and became immortalized in Gordon Lightfoot's song.
This is the story of this terrible tragedy.

The average SNAP benefit per month is $177 a person.

The average ACA benefit per month is up to $550 a person.

People want us to hold the line for a reason. This is not a matter of appealing to a base. It’s about people’s lives.

And working people want leaders whose word means something to them.

The rack was empty this morning. We have to trim down regular fire wood to fit, but our tiny but mighty cast iron wood stove is now stocked for Winter.

Mayor Spencer says best way to fill "enormous gap" on food from Trump Shutdown is yet another volunteer fund, this one distributed by United Way- which always requires at least a 10% cut.

Zero public funds from the City of St. Louis, a pr move after 37 days of Mayor doing nothing.

Stopped into @steveshotdogs.bsky.social on South Grand for chili cheese fries and a fella in a black trench coat was shredding a keytar solo on the corner. Someone wrote NEVER CHANGE in South Grand's yearbook in 1984 and South Grand is still taking it very seriously.
