Just found the most Eminently Qualified English teacher for a Chinese kindergarten
I have no idea if this was a benign thing or not but this advertisement for Odlums "Irish Purity" flour from the 1920s wouldn't have looked out of place in 1930s Germany, or indeed amongst certain circles in 2020s Ireland

I feel like "Epstein files" is going to be used in headlines for the next five years on any slow news day in the same way that "Richie from Manic Street Preachers Update!" was[is] used in Wales until [present date]

Has anyone forgotten that under Bush a Global War of Muslims began and killed tens of millions? Trump is a racist, chauvinist and is boning USA but he -currently- comes nowhere near a global death toll which is, inestimably worse.
I didn't vote for Bush, I was quite critical of Bush, and if forced to choose between Bush and Trump for US president, I'd easily pick Bush.

Historically illiterate is the biggest one for me. I loved the original idea of Airbnb, it was so good but it, like any good idea, became a monster when it became too big and left it's original intent. Tourist economies in places seem to be reliant on this in many cities I've seen in Europe

As a scientist my first thought is "it would be great to study why TV travels and to where" and my second thought is "you dummy, it's already probably been researched to death before Friends even ended"

This concept is so interesting to me as a reverse thought experiment
What cultural or sports fields could China do this to "The West" and why is it unlikely. Maybe less so about films
I thing I remember about my first couple of years in Beijing is how many girls had adopted western names from the show "Friends." I knew several Rachels and Phoebes.

On a serious note, what touchstones of Chinese culture exist that could feasibly be taken up internationally
Sport - bball or track and field?
Media - which xhs 哈哈
Personalities - (there can only be one)
It would have to be a something like clothes food or style, but not gonna happen broaki

Purely based on "my eyes" there are many Teslas on the road in Beijing because they, I believe, are seen as a show-off item, to some extent. However 1 I've no data 2 I expect there to be 0 because of the better options available , so seeing any is a surprise
