Video shows ICE leaving behind an infant and broken glass after arresting a man with no criminal history.
“There was a car seat in the back... There were broken glass shards all over it... There was just this tiny peanut of a baby. He was crying.”

Your Facebook/Cable News addict friends will believe there's been a meaningful shift in the Tone or whatever in Minneapolis because that's what the man behind the podium said and all the journalists repeated it. Actual people on the ground notice nothing has changed because nothing has.
Trump's core audience is people who don't leave their houses, either because they have no interests or they're terrified of the outside world. Say something on TV and it's effectively Real to them. Democrats can't replicate that speaking to an audience of people whose lives involve the real world.

Share this with everyone you know. ICE has not backed down in Minnesota. They are kidnapping children from their homes and sending them to an unheated prison in the dead of winter. The maximum legal detention time is 20 days (still too long!). Some kids have been imprisoned over 100 days there

ICE and by extension this entire administration are implicitly making the best argument for unfettered immigration because quite frankly if they're supposedly the best homegrown people we have to offer, dear god do we need lots of people from somewhere else

We’re just not a free country.

Any American watching this play out between regime forces and journalists overseas would recognize it for what it is.

A reminder that ICE hasn’t slowed down in Minneapolis at all.

Outside of Minnesota, it might feel like everything has changed since Alex Pretti’s murder. But ICE hasn’t actually lost any power and they’re continuing to terrorize our communities.

A national general strike is needed not just to protest the violence, but to acknowledge the absurdity that we’re all just supposed to carry on with our stupid little daily lives amidst the ambient terrorism of an unchecked state militia executing innocent people in the streets of our country.

America can never forget what the people in MN are doing, not just for their neighbors, but for all of us. Modeling non-violent, organized resistance that is cratering the fascist’s support by showing us the limitless depths of their evil, day after day, at great personal expense.
Breaking: ICE is now reportedly following white people on grocery runs in Minnesota, suspecting they're delivering food to neighbors too afraid to leave their homes.

Neighborhood instructions:

Don't put the address in your phone.

Don't use GPS.

Write it on paper.

And if you get stopped, eat it.

If the admin's strategic goal was to break public resistance to immigration enforcement activities, it was a tactical mistake to go to the Twin Cities.

ICE just crashed a car at my intersection (due to their own shitty driving) and immediately got out and tear gassed observers.

This is the first example I’ve seen of an American government using AI to meaningfully misrepresent actual events with the intent to deceive the public. We are at Stalinesque levels of propaganda.

This man should find no place to rest his head, no good meal to eat, no warmth in cold -- not a moment of comfort in the rest of his miserable, well, I would say life, but what kind of life is this? To be so cruel, so callous, so empty. So let's go with "rest of his miserable existence."
Q: Do you have any moral or ethical qualms about detaining a five-year-old on his way back from preschool?

Every day some story breaks me some. Today it’s the guy who approached parents at a school patrol, told them he was with Indivisible, and asked about how the patrol system works. The parents gave vague answers, followed him back to his car — and of course it was ICE.

this is just conservatism, no understanding of the systems they benefit from and constant false victimhood
It's so exhausting to to be constantly told by American leaders that the defining policy of the 80 odd years during which the US became the most wealthy and powerful country in the history of the world was a grossly unfair failure for them.
US trade secretary Howard Lutnick really not mincing his words here at Davos: "We are here to make a v clear point: globalisation has failed the West and the USA. It's a failed policy. It's what the WEF has stood for, which is, export, offshore, find the cheapest labour in the world."
