So,as a little thought-experiment, tell me something about the United Kingdom that works well and is actually quite impressive. I am not trying to sound like some boosterish politician. I just genuinely believe that making people believe that all is lost is a convenient pretext for shady characters.

More consideration needed for this in the UK too. We need way more street trees and to bring back awnings on high streets.

At this point there is no argument to be made in defense of what's going on here. None. Where these people all thrice removed cousins of hamas agents? Is that the yarn they're gonna spin?

The depths of depravity a political regime can enact under guise of state defense is truly unfathomable.
Israel has killed more Palestinians in Gaza in the last 24 hours than the combined death toll of the Israel-Iran conflict

This impunity, enabled by global moral failure, will echo through history www.aljazeera.com/news/2025/6/...
Israel kills 59 Palestinians in Gaza, many while trying to get aid
Thirteen starving Palestinians killed while trying to get food near the Netzarim Corridor and in Rafah’s al-Mawasi area.

I think we need to start asking what's the cost or consequences of not doing something rather than 'can we afford to do it'.

The Iraq playbook is back & the media won’t question it.

Iran has no nuclear weapons. Israel — on trial for genocide — does. Iran signed the NPT & allows IAEA inspections. Israel hasn’t — & its leaders face ICC arrest warrants.

Beware of politicians beating the drums of war.

👇 genuinely don’t understand why people are unable to comprehend “don’t get AI to do something for you if you can’t understand whether it has produced the wrong answer”.
this seems like an incredible way to get yourself into huge amounts of trouble with several tax and immigration departments simultaneously

To dominate AI, Sam Altman knew OpenAI needed to scale faster than anyone else — regardless of the social and environmental costs.

This week @karenhao.bsky.social joins @parismarx.com to discuss Altman’s AI empire and why it must be dismantled.

As my 18 year old daughter says wearily of the tech bros, They're just trying to build god.
Sam Altman posted this essay in the last hour. I’m someone who believes AI is a genuinely transformative technology – at least the biggest since the internet.

But I read this and it just comes across as either delusional or a bizarre, fantastical sales pitch. I can’t work out which is worse.
The Gentle Singularity
We are past the event horizon; the takeoff has started. Humanity is close to building digital superintelligence, and at least so far it’s much less weird than it seems like it should be. Robots...

The UK government should long ago have exited X. The platform is not interested in appropriate moderation. It is a hotbed for extremism. This was clear nearly a year ago during the riots.
There are a good number of X accounts celebrating, encouraging and inciting violence in Nothern Ireland.

The platform, the regulators & the government are too casual about the weak response to the incitement of violence in every flashpoint situation
