25 years of game development: a long, strange trip | Michael Fitch posted on the topic | LinkedIn
Hi. My name is Michael. I've been making games professionally for 25 years now. June 5, 2000, I walked into Atomic games with a leather messenger bag, a comp book, an absurd number of pens, and a w...

I'd love for this tweet to go viral and potentially give my life some stability.

I'd take the bad with the good there. (But also we would share our success with those who worked on this and hopefully hire some unemployed peeps too.)

I am glad the era of scripted cinematic sequences to open games seems to have faded.

Having to do an arbitrary sequence of things doesn’t make me feel like a hero. It just reminds me I’m playing a game, which is the opposite of the desired effect.

If you are asking people to do real work to oppose Fascism and fascist power structures,

But you’re doing it on Substack

You need to get the beam out of your eye.

I am old enough that pop culture has passed me by. I have a vague sense of who Chappell Roan is from entertainment news.

So, I was not prepared for 8 tiny voices singing in unison at my daughter’s birthday:
“Ima keep on dancing out in West Hollywood
At the Pink Pony Club.”

Snowflakes. Seriously.

What you’re calling “verbal assaults” are US citizens exercising their 1st Amendment rights while being threatened with murder by paid thugs.

Get a spine or get off the stage.
"We've seen over a thousand percent increase in assaults on ICE officers, 8,000 verbal assaults on them...."

This whole RFK thing is absurd.

Stupid people hate it when smart people are right about things stupid people don’t understand, so thousands of families have to go through tragedies that could have been prevented.

Science is not a matter of political opinion.

I can't repeat this enough.
I've said this before and I'll say it again.
It would only take a tiny handful of Republican Congress members or senators to stop the slide of America toward authoritarian fascism, but nope. They're all in.
January 17, 2026 at 6:51 PM
At this point, any vote for any Republican candidate means you support:
- Immunity for rich pedophiles
- US tax dollars being used to attack US citizens
- Unlimited corruption in Washington
- Taking food and health care away from children

This is literally what is happening right now.

Wow, sure would be pretty crazy if a ton of experts in the artificial intelligence field relentlessly warned everyone about this state of affairs being inevitable over and over for years.

I had a good sleep for the first time in weeks.

Wow. The future is bright! Feeling 10 years younger. Leapt down the stairs.

Outside? Seattle, in the dead gloom of winter and the sun is shining like it got confused, "Oh, is this summer?"

As a three-time combat veteran, I get pretty damn hot when a five-time draft dodger like Donald Trump pounds his chest and bangs the war drums.

America is over it.

No more sending our sons & daughters to fight for oil.

Today is the official release day for Sanibel! This one has a special place in my heart because I made it for my dad, who was an insatiable shark tooth collector and who loved shells as well. He got to play a pre-production copy on Sanibel about 6 weeks before he died last year.

Love you dad ♥️

Am I understanding this correctly?

The President, without authorization from Congress, sent the US military to seize an oil tanker, then sent that tanker to a foreign country, had a private sale of the oil and put the money in an offshore account?

And no one has a problem with this?

i know our illegitimate president's ego won't permit it, but if people are actively resisting your racist brown shirt stochastic terrorism, maybe /declaring martial law/ will not actually have the effect you want? maybe people aren't afraid, they just want justice.

The federal government has no basis to send armed forces into cities to terrorize citizens.

Our taxes pay for this. Law enforcement works for us. Politicians work for us.

We are citizens, not subjects.

The idea that partisan gerrymandering is fine, but racial gerrymandering is illegal says so much about what is wrong with our country.
🚨BREAKING: A federal court Wednesday ruled against a Republican challenge to California’s redistricting plan, rejecting the GOP claim that the state had engaged in illegal racial gerrymandering when drawing up its new congressional map. www.democracydocket.com/news-alerts/...
