We all knew that. It’s you and your colleagues that seem to think otherwise, because CRs are the only way to force them to agree to funding. Instead, you’ve conceded the point after weeks of suffering which you rendered worthless.
We're debating on the government funding package right now and every single Republican voted against a Democratic amendment to pass a clean, one-year extension of the ACA tax credits.

Republicans just don't care about your health care.

The thing @schumer.senate.gov appears to be doing where he gets everybody who’s retiring or was just sworn in to a six-year term to vote yes so he and a bunch more moderates can vote “no” to appear more progressive than they are is so insulting lol

We’re on the right track! Make sure you track your ballot to confirm it is accepted, NOT challenged. Check our links in bio to do so! More votes will be counted on Monday!

The number of received ballots has now surpassed 285,000, exceeding turnout from 2021! Many of those were Election Day voters, and over 100,000 votes have not yet been counted!

There’s much to feel hopeful about. This is YOUR city!

Ugh.
Less than 20% of registered voters across WA had returned their ballots as of 5 p.m. Monday. That puts the state on track for record low turnout. Data shows returns lagging even in places with high-profile contests for offices like county executive and mayor. Voters can return ballots until 8 p.m.

I am so upset.

Last week Time Magazine solicited a piece from me on Zohran Mamdani & anti-Muslim hate. I pitched a framing re the dehumanization of Muslims & how Mamdani’s inclusive, socialist campaign in its content resists that. They agreed. I wrote the piece. 1/
To be asked to write about racism only to be racially aggressed in the editing process is a new level unlocked I have to say.

Teen Vogue has done incredible reporting on issues such as ICE, mask bans, trans rights and Palestine.

They’ve had more guts and transparency in their political reporting than most.

Hate to see this.
I was laid off from Teen Vogue today along with multiple other staffers, and today is my last day.

certainly more to come from me when the dust has settled more, but to my knowledge, after today, there will be no politics staffers at Teen Vogue.

My vote for Girmay was mostly because Balducci endorsed Harrell. Maybe you think that's stupid but how else can we dismantle our self-dealing political monoculture if we can't make pols pay a real price for propping up fellow Democrats who make entire careers out of doing as little as possible?
I understand that politics has to be adversarial. But! I am enjoying the King County Executive race where when you talk to someone about it, it's like [Person I'm voting against] is great but here's what I like about my choice.

The new Gates climate memo isn't a pivot; it's a continuation of "a consistent pattern of downplaying clean energy while promoting dubious and potentially dangerous technofixes in which he is often personally invested," @michaelemann.bsky.social argues in @thebulletin.org:
You can’t reboot the planet if you crash it
What Gates is putting forward aren’t legitimate arguments that can be made in good faith. They are shopworn fossil fuel industry talking points.

Basically when Feinstein was dying, Pelosi had her daughter be her caretaker and stop her from resigning early so that Schiff could avoid taking on Barbara Lee.
Feinstein's primary caregiver: Pelosi's daughter
A quiet caretaking arrangement has raised questions about whether Nancy Pelosi has the ailing senator's personal interests at heart.

Donate to food banks and local charities that help get food to those in need.

Don’t forget about special Diets!

If you’re able to donate items that can help those with food allergies and/or sensitivities, they will be very grateful.

Think gluten free, peanut free, high/low protein etc.

With millions at risk of losing SNAP in the coming days, a reminder: hunger doesn't happen in isolation. When food assistance disappears, families use rent money to eat. Then come evictions and homelessness.

Housing, food, healthcare—it's all connected. Cut one thread and the whole thing unravels.

Just over an hour after 3 Supreme Court justices warned that Alabamian Anthony Boyd would suffer psychological torture, he was subjected to the longest nitrogen gas execution in US history, gasping for air more than 225 times. Read my eyewitness account: www.treadbylee.com/p/after-just...
After justices warned of prolonged suffocation, Alabama subjected Anthony Boyd to the longest nitrogen execution in U.S. history.
Boyd was the chairman of Project Hope, a death row-led nonprofit. Its members are left reeling in the wake of their leader's suffocation execution.
