Shared my scientific views on the physiology of famine and severe malnutrition, especially in children, on an article written regarding the humanitarian crisis in Gaza.

This is a heartbreaking crisis and I hope for an urgent end to the suffering.

Thank to Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF) and @epicentre-msf.bsky.social for the invitation to present our study on the molecular understanding of #kwashiorkor. I hope it was as informative and enjoyable for you as it was for me. I thank the audience for the attention, questions and the laughter!
OMICs studies highlight that Kwash may be a combination of malnutrition & inflammatory syndrome leading to the disruption of the extracellular matrix and sphingolipid metabolism, with possible implications for capillary permeability and for the function of the lymphatic system.

Looking forward to giving a talk about kwashiorkor molecular pathophysiology. Join us in Paris or online. Registration details below.

Thanks to @epicentre-msf.bsky.social for the invitation
