This smells distinctly like collider bias and/or selection bias and/or regression to the mean... You simply can't select teen prodigies, and world class athletes rom databases, and go run regressions without serious consideration of the selection process!

Given that the only “advantage” of this subscription was the access to the shittiest and darkest metric of all time (aka the impact factor), this feels like absolutely great news. Hopefully more will follow.

Once again some bullshit published in Scientific Reports (the same journal that published a paper on “neutrosophic statistics”, a “nonlinear model of a love story”, or a correlation between BMI and dishonesty. What a surprise.
"Runctitiononal features"? "Medical fymblal"? "1 Tol Line storee"? This gets worse the longer you look at it. But it's got to be good, because it was published in Nature Scientific Reports last week: www.nature.com/articles/s41... h/t @asa.tsbalans.se

New Neuron paper by Mitchell, Dahly, Bishop tears apart the “autism is caused by the microbiome” story. Tiny n, noisy 16S, contradictory taxa, vague “dysbiosis”. It reads like an autopsy of a hype bubble.

Every year I am surprised to see universities celebrating their “highly cited researchers” from a closed index, owned by Clarivate. How is it calculated? Who knows. Is it a skewed index? Of course it is. Did these universities not sign the DORA agreement? Raoult was a highly cited researcher too…
