100% this! @schumer.senate.gov needs to be ousted.
Senator Schumer is no longer effective and should be replaced. If you can’t lead the fight to stop healthcare premiums from skyrocketing for Americans, what will you fight for?

Many Americans are hurting right now because of the shutdown, but caving to Republicans won’t end the hurt.

Trump and his lapdogs continue to assert that they alone have the power to slash whatever programs they don’t like.

Deals with this regime are meaningless.

Please don’t think this beltway game of having retiring Dem senators vote yes while everyone else votes no is going to shield leadership from the end result. We see what is happening and can’t be fooled by those games.

So @underthedesknews.bsky.social is urging folks to call your Senators especially if they are the 8 yes votes and demand they vote no on the next round. This isn’t over. Like I said earlier: it’s boots on necks time. We raise hell and we don’t abandon folks w/ ACA.

Senators on the brink of retirement who lived full, wealthy lives and never feared the loss of their own healthcare voting for their constituents to die from their inability to afford the same is treasonous

The average SNAP benefit per month is $177 a person.

The average ACA benefit per month is up to $550 a person.

People want us to hold the line for a reason. This is not a matter of appealing to a base. It’s about people’s lives.

And working people want leaders whose word means something to them.

Centrist Democrats in the Senate folded on the shutdown, throwing away their leverage in exchange for worthless GOP promises.

Well well well if it isn't the thing I have been talking about all week. If ice will not identify themselves how do we know that they are actually real ice agents? How can we possibly be resisting arrest when we believe we are trying to escape a kidnapping by masked and identified men w/o warrants?
FBI Warns of Criminals Posing as ICE, Urges Agents to ID Themselves
In a bulletin to law enforcement agencies, the FBI said criminal impersonators are exploiting ICE’s image and urged nationwide coordination to distinguish real operations from fakes.

this goes along with video @portianoir.com made about being safe & smart
More about the 50501 movement. I received an email from the original founder.

The movement is not what it was set out to be, and hasn’t been for a while.

Substack is doing what twitter did except they’re using progressive writers to do it and a lot of the writers don’t know or can’t do anything about it because the media landscape is so fucked and they need to eat.

Okay, now that we're thinking about Substack and both its cultural influence and its business model, can I walk you all through the economics? Because they make no sense, and we can use that to predict how things are going to go... (Caution:🧵)

Substack has a Nazi problem: they are the bar that let in the Nazis set up shop, because they get a cut of the action.

And just like people left Xwitter behind, they can leave substack behind. There are tools, there are alternatives.
"Substack is, just as a reminder, a political project made by extremists with a goal of normalizing a radical, hateful agenda by co-opting well-intentioned creators' work in service of cross-promoting attacks on the vulnerable." -- @anildash.com
