Hi, yes, hello. This space is about learning and healing. I educate with grace. I lead with grace. I will at times have posts that are for teaching moments. When you see those, please take a scroll to see what work has been done so we continue to move forward.

It's always "listen to Black women" until it becomes time to actually listen to Black women.

She was deeply loved by her wife who is presumably going to raise the six-year-old boy you just categorized as an orphan for some reason.

And we didn't ✌🏾lose✌🏾 her. The government murdered her. Words mean things
Renee Nicole Good was a mother of three, including a 6-year-old boy who is now an orphan.

Renee was deeply loved by many. Her mom described her as “one of the kindest people I’ve ever known.”

This is who we lost yesterday.

“Say her name” isn’t used for white victims of shootings, because 99.9% of the time, their names will be said often and loudly. Rarely is a white victim a hidden victim. They usually aren’t brushed under the media rug.

RIP Renee Nicole Good.

When I see “Set aside race so we can address bigger issues”, what’s being said is that race and the racism that comes with it aren’t big enough issues to be considered.

And that often tells me everything I need to know about the person making that statement.

I love this woman.

And this chicken.
I made gluten free fried chicken for Portia and it was GOOD. Yum.

ADHD hack that may work: putting a reminders widget on my phone Home Screen. Maybe having it right there will work for setting reminders I need.

I will report back. 🫡

She’s gonna say “why did you post this?!”

And my answer will be “because I like to share photos from when my first thought is ‘I’m gonna marry this woman.’”

What say you?
Ok Bluesky, talk to me about your dishwasher. I have to buy a new dishwasher. And everyone is saying Bosch 500 or 800 series but do I need to spend $1400 on a dishwasher? People also say “buy Miele. Top of the line.” I definitely don’t want to spend 2K on a dishwasher.

The joys of homeownership.

🧵 Our mutual aid hub has been a HUGE draw for our immense volunteer base, many of whom have never wanted to be involved politics before now.

This model isn’t just about the immediate impacts: It’s about showing our values, building a community, and reaching voters — without selling our soul!
Turning campaigns into mutual aid hubs isn’t good for campaigns or mutual aid! Your campaign manager should be entirely too busy to schlep around 5600 tampons!

If you want to know the meet-cute story of me and @portianoir.com and how I met the loml without ever going outside, this episode of B*tch, Listen is for you.

Also if you don't like the holidays, we talk about giving yourself permission to REST and do what you want, not what's expected.

What does Black joy look like? it looks like rest. It looks like watching Doctor Who with the loml.

I still don’t like the holidays, but I dislike them a lot less now that I am sharing them with @portianoir.com.

I’m Not a Fan of the Holidays—But This Year It’s Different

It really was such a sweet interview and fun time. 🖤
I just interviewed @portianoir.com for a special holiday episode of B*tch, Listen. It made my producer cry.

Here are some ridiculous photos of us.

Episode drops Thursday, December 18.

How much antiblackness are we supposed to deal with on a regular basis before nonBlack people will agree that the racism was beyond the pale.

What’s it gonna take. I want facts and figures. How many slurs per day should we have to suffer before it’s ok not to feel sorry for some dumb white broad.
“Those of us on the left should be fighting to improve protections for workers of all races, and thereby for the betterment of people’s material conditions regardless of their views,” Arash Azizi argues:
Why the Cinnabon Story Doesn’t Make Me Happy
The left should be promoting working-class solidarity, not delighting in seeing workers summarily dismissed.
