Someone's screenshot of a two-post twitter thread, from user blue (@bluewmist): the fastest way to kill motivation is to make your identity depend on the outcome. it's called ego involvement. when failing becomes failing as a person, your brain starts avoiding the whole thing. not because you don't care, but because you care too much. you don't need lower standards. you need less self-worth tangled up in your goals. the work gets easier when it's not about proving who you are.

UPDATE: We may see the first time English is displaced as the most popular language among Bluesky posters as soon as Americans head to sleep tonight.

Japanese users were close to achieving that feat at 7 am Eastern Time, and their activity is increasing at an exponential pace. This is remarkable.

This flattening is terrible. Even if you establish a strict no-gen-AI policy, it's still entirely possible that one person on your team violates the policy, and you don't notice in time, or can't easily fish the bad assets out of thousands of good ones. That's nothing like going all-in on slop.

Been drawing so many reindeer at work these days 🦌
