Hi, I'm Inky, and this is my new pinned post! I love to write and crochet about my favorite games (mainly DAI and DOS2), and the replies below contain active threads for the fanworks I create, including my fics, amigurumi, screenshots, amis for sale, and whatever else I decide to stick here. 🖤

Sitting around the monitor are a lit DAI lamp, Thom and Mira minis from @InkyBlackFire, Thom and Mira funko pops, a jar of markers, the first BG3 owlbear I ever crocheted (with a Blackwall pin on its chest patch), and a small nug crocheted from my own pattern sitting on the owlbear ami's leg. The lower part of the desk has a wired keyboard and mouse, both sitting on a flora of Thedas oversized mousepad, and behind it, beneath the upper part of the desk, are candles, most of them from fandom (Ifan, Blackwall, Halsin). In front of the desk is a comfy blue chair. Sitting in the chair is a giant crocheted nug, looking at the monitor with its hands resting on the desk near the keyboard. On the back of the chair is a crocheted lap blanket designed to look like Blackwall's gambeson. All crochet pieces were crocheted by me, and all are my designs/freehanded, aside from the giant nug, which was worked up in blanket yarn using the pattern by Martina Sůkalová. The art visible on the wall (there's more out of frame and on other walls) are by various artists, including @knutty, @InkyBlackfire, and @deathsgarden A highly detailed Blackwall (Dragon Age Inquisition) amigurumi, standing outside in the morning light. Handsome, with a voice that made her swoon, and he saved her life two seconds after meeting (and glowered at her as he did it)? My girl was half-gone before he'd offered to join her. The rest fell into place slowly. Mira adored Blackwall's sense of humor, his compassion for others, and that he, too, appeared to have no interest in putting himself above anyone else or grasping at power. She loved that they seemed to share the same morals; loved how fearless he was in combat; loved how those same hands that had been soaked in blood countless times to keep her safe were the same ones that carved delicate wooden figurines so the children in camp and keep would have toys, as all children should. She loved to make him smile, and loved how little it took the more she tried to do it. She loved how safe she felt in his company, whether sitting together in silence or fighting side by side through the most horrific of circumstances. Blackwall never made her feel othered, and at the same time, somehow made her feel like the most important person in the world, and not the way that other people did, not because she's the Inquisitor, or the Herald of anything, or because of the anchor, but because he loved her, Mira—just Mira, the person. Somewhere in all of that, she realized she was in love with him, too. Likely one of the times they'd been hunting down another Warden artifact and she'd handed it to him, both of them probably covered in blood and muck and trembling from the exertion it had taken to retrieve it from wherever it had been lost. She pressed it into his hand and saw how he looked at her, how he smiled at her, how he loved her, and that's the moment she knew she loved him, and when she knew that her life would be empty if he weren't in it.

From my DAI longfic, For the Memories: "We've dealt with rifts," he said reassuringly, "Nothing we can't handle." "This one's different," she whispered, "don't rush in," and then she darted off to do exactly what she'd just told him not to. Before he could call out to her, a scout's warning shout rang out, and bright green light burst from the sky right in front of the gate. Mira was already there, firing off arrows and leaping from one vantage point to the next, as if she were avoiding something, though nothing was chasing her. Ignoring her advice, Thom braced himself and charged forward, ready and wanting to help, but before he could reach her, everything was wrong. The rift was there, just overhead, sparking and spitting the way they always did, and around him, demons, their faces twisted with snarls and arms outstretched to strike. But they didn't strike; they moved so slowly, they were hardly moving at all, as if trapped in molasses. Thom laughed and brought his sword down through the neck of a shade, then spun around to shove a terror back with his shield, and then— He was on his ass, his legs a jumble, his sword a meter away on the ground beside him. He lunged to reach for it and barely moved. Thom grit his teeth, and even that happened slowly, his jaw clenching millimeter by millimeter as his fingers crept forward; he couldn't turn his head to see the cause of the sounds racing all around him; he couldn't breathe, though he desperately felt he needed to catch his breath. He— Crashed forward, overreaching for his sword to land face-first in the dirt, time suddenly sped back up to normal. Or at least he hoped. Thom scrambled to his feet, snatching up his sword as he did, then clanked it against his shield twice with a shout, trying to draw the demons to him and away from the rogues, wherever they were. He heard the twang of bowstrings, the reverberating clink of Varric resetting his crossbow, he turned to rush in toward the noise, and— It was like being frozen, except not completely. Demons blurred past him; barely even shapes, let alone colors, and everything he could see was a sickly, blinding green. He tried to force himself to speed up, tried to will himself to move faster, but each attempt was futile. He only toppled forward again when whatever force that held him had let up, and when it did, he all but scrambled back to a safe distance behind Mira and the others, frustrated and furious with himself for being so utterly useless. "We've almost got them all," Mira panted, ducking and rolling away from nothing, seemingly unaffected by the strange flow of time. "Stay there, it's alright." As if he could do anything else without being turned into a practice dummy for demons.

In both timelines, Mira despises the titles piled upon her. She feels like a fraud, deeply uncomfortable with being referred to as Worship, Andraste's Herald, & Inquisitor (though Inquisitor is at least a functional title, and one she sort of earned). She resents *having* to make big- (1/4)
