Not as many as you might think.

But yes, America is a laughing stock.
There are many serious governments in the world.

The US is not one of them.

I feel like I'm going crazy. Our leader just casually told us he can't stop illegal trade with another nation in case it impacts on the multinationals from another state that have set up residence here.
He can't enact the will of the Irish people because it will upset foreign billionaires #Spéirgorm
Micheál Martin today told the Dáil that any ban on importing services from illegal Israeli settlements would be “unimplementable” as well as having legal consequences for US multinationals here. Separately the government’s spring legislative programme refers only to a ban on “goods” from those areas

New Gist: The Abuse Factory

It shouldn't be difficult to act swiftly and without hesitation when the question posed is "Is it OK to work with the child sexual abuse material factory?" But our state failed this most straightforward of tests this week.

So, is the Minister a liar, or merely incompetent?

If he knew, then he lied. If he didn't know, then his special advisor and press secretary approved this without his knowledge (which also raises the question as to their competence!)

Ireland could easily do this - but as this week has shown, it doesn't have the will or backbone to do transformation.

Ireland certainly doesn't do "the vision thing".
“Uruguay did what most nations still call impossible: it built a power grid that runs almost entirely on renewables—at half the cost of fossil fuels. The physicist who led that transformation says the same playbook could work anywhere—if governments have the courage to change the rules.”

Across hundreds of cases, intentional VRAs have a "signature." A purposeful approach line toward a person. Commitment to that line. Steering corrections that track a target. Acceleration and follow through. All of these are absent in the videos of the incident I have seen thus far. 5/7

Patrick O’Donovan’s statement here is farcically wrong, grimly idiotic and would be laughable if this were a situation which was capable of ever being a laughing matter.

It should be quoted, cited or just played at him every time he opens his mouth on any matter, for the rest of his career.
