"I spent 20 minutes writing an article on my personal website titled "The best tech journalists at eating hot dogs". Every word is a lie. ... Less than 24 hours later, the world's leading chatbots were blabbering about my world-class hot dog skills." Oh my god.
I got a tip that all over the world, people are using a dead-simple hack to manipulate AI behavior. It turns out changing what AI tells other people can be as easy as writing a blog post *on your own website*

I didn’t believe it, so I decided to test it myself www.bbc.com/future/artic...
I hacked ChatGPT and Google's AI – and it only took 20 minutes
I found a way to make AI tell you lies – and I'm not the only one.

When your CEO talks like this and you're still taking a paycheck, like...I don't know, man. We all choose our path.
Any Republican or Democrat who continues to support Palantir, takes money from them, or refuses to hold them accountable is not your friend and should not be supported.

There is a world of difference between art and "content". Books and bathroom tissue are both paper.

One thing AI has revealed is that there are a whole lot of people who have neither interesting ideas nor the talent to express them, and apparently not even any real will or desire to cultvate either of these things… but still for some reason desperately want to be regarded as artists.
AI filmmaking is completely unserious.

You've got people with $30k begging the internet for ideas by next week because they have nothing of their own to say, it's just slop for the sake of slop. Embarrassing state of affairs.

To be fair he's probably not the only one who wears denim in the sauna and the tub
a man in a white apron is running down a city street
Alt: Edgar from MIB going for a stroll, probably to the sauna where he can wear denim

Every video on YouTube, every book in electronic form, every available website, every
I love how journalists asked OpenAI executives if they stole every single video on YouTube to train their stuff and the execs said “huh, I dunno” and there’s been no follow up or clarification and apparently we are all fine with that.

Think we need to get away from "ChatGPT is doing this" and just state OpenAI and the people who work for the company are doing this. You can't hold a computer accountable, but you can hold those behind its creation accountable.

But not necessarily to the platforms you use. Because there you still do have a choice.
This is disgusting, and dehumanizing, and unfortunately coming to damn near every platform you can think of. Multilingualism isn’t an inconvenience to be “solved” by technology. We have to push back.
Discovered today that Instagram had turned on (without my opt-in) automatic AUDIO translation of any reel that shows up in my feed not in English USING AI TO MIMIC THE SPEAKER’S VOICE and WOW it was creepy and upsetting.

You can turn it off in “Language & Translations” in Settings. 🙅🏻‍♀️

This is completely fucked but good news: The writer of the column put his email at the bottom.
“We plan to hire an AI rewrite specialist to ingest the reporting by Hannah and others and use AI to convert it into stories.”

The editor of the Cleveland Plain Dealer said it will use AI to ‘write’ its articles.

I cannot imagine that Twitter is still more useful in any way, for any profession or for any legitimate purpose.
Bluesky is the new science Twitter, new study by @whysharksmatter.bsky.social and Julia Wester concludes!

"Results show that for every reported professional benefit that scientists once gained from Twitter, scientists can now gain that benefit more effectively on Bluesky than on Twitter."
Scientists no Longer Find Twitter Professionally Useful, and have Switched to Bluesky
Synopsis. Social media has become widely used by the scientific community for a variety of professional uses, including networking and public outreach. For

no, it simply isnt.
People are talking about capital using gAI as an excuse to conduct mass lay-offs, about students losing learning because theyre being lied to about gAI in education, about the mass theft of the work of artists and authors to train LLMs, about CSAM and nonconsensual sexual images.
The predominent anti-AI position on bsky is that AI is useless, fake, shit and basically the same as NFTs, destined to collapse in months once everyone sees how poor it is. So anyone who suggests that it could improve or be useful to any boss in any situation in the future must be evil.

Have asked this before and always like the responses. What are your biggest “I saw that in the first run cinema” flexes? Couple of mine:

Transformers: The Movie (1986)
Batman: Mask of the Phantasm (1993)
Office Space (1999)
