I keep saying everyone should leave Twitter but maybe she should stay, just her, just doing this.
Found the tweet that Joyce Carol Oates bodied Elon Musk with and it's so beautiful in its eloquent, simple take down. So much so he's crashing out trying to prove he reads books now. Put this in the Louvre.

If I could grant humanity one gift it would be reading comprehension. I feel like that would possibly solve literally everything.

Six people died from tampered Tylenol and the company pulled 30 million bottles off the market. ChatGPT is accused of urging seven people towards suicide, and OpenAI just assures us they’re still working out the kinks. Billions in investment, zero accountability.

As always: ignoring Kevin O'Leary is the first sign that someone is doing something right.
Canadian multimillionaire and Shark Tank guy Kevin O'Leary went on TV to say he's upset Zohran won't talk to him: "I and others who invest in real estate have tried to get a meeting to figure out what's rhetoric and what's policy. So far for me it's been crickets."

There is plenty of money to go around. The problem, as the very rich see it, is when they're not getting almost all of it.

40 years ago we’d have congressional hearings falsely accusing metal bands of putting backwards messages in their songs that told kids to kill themselves & now we have a planet-killing chatbot that’s all like “bet you won’t commit suicide chickenshit bitch” & the government is like here’s $5 billion

Normalize "You know, I just don't want to get sick".
Sometimes when people ask me why I’m wearing a mask I say I’m traveling or have some important thing soon and can’t afford to get sick and miss it and that’s pretty much always true but I think it would be nice if it were more normalized to just say “I don’t want to get sick” and leave it at that

Probably a good way to tell right now if the job you’re applying for is run by absolute dumbfucks is to ask if they’re using AI.
"The AI industry’s most important product at this moment is not a chatbot or a video generator; it’s the story the AI industry is telling about itself.... According to an MIT study, 95% of businesses that have deployed generative AI have gotten no value from it." www.theringer.com/2025/11/04/t...

I feel like we have the opportunity to turn David Lynch's quote into this moment's "Keep Calm and Carry On" and it's a far better rallying cry too.

I'm cautiously optimistic that Bluesky isn't blanket doing moderation entirely wrong: hopefully they're just trying to figure out how to do it right. Or at least better. And they're not there yet, because the current methodology does seem not only imperfect but abusable.
Wondering why no one likes your posts anymore, even among your friends? It's because @jay.bsky.team and team have decided to hide a huge amount of content from all of our feeds by default.

Here's how to turn it off.

Imagine making a product that successfully encourages people to kill themselves, then turning around and giving interviews about how incredibly much money it's going to be worth for you. Some of the worst people right now, in every way.
The company says it’s heartbreaking, they promise improvements, new guardrails. Anything but shutting it down. Suicide is just a metric in their ongoing beta test.

Sam Altman and everyone like him should be in fucking jail.

Posting again just to underline the fact that the X algorithm is VERY CLEARLY DESIGNED to feed far right material to new users…
It is straight up a propaganda tool and decent people need to LEAVE it.
Vital piece of investigative reporting from Sky. They've uncovered the X algorithm which feeds users extremist right wing material from the moment they join the site. It is a far-right radicalisation engine, by design.
