Photo by Pierre Lavie. Yes this is me. And I threw my Leica. It landed on the bass plate with hardly a scratch. Another Photographer grabbed it along with my phone and I was able to track him later. I was held face down tear gas deployed right in front of me and pepper sprayed directly into the eye.

I’m seeing posts from people (outside of MN) about how US citizens should carry their passports.

And let me say that *inside* MN, we are calmly responding to requests with: “No, I don’t have to show you any documentation.”

Because that’s how you protect everyone, regardless of immigration status.

MPR reports on how ICE agents are accessing private data to track immigration rights activists who are monitoring the agency’s surge in Minneapolis.
Privacy advocates: ICE using private data to intimidate observers and activists
MPR News has looked into reports that federal agents have accessed private data to track and intimidate anti-ICE activists since the immigration crackdown surged in Minnesota in December. Privacy advocates say it’s a clear violation of state law.

ICE keeps saying the people protesting it are being paid without any evidence, but we have receipts showing that the people *defending* ICE are absolutely being paid.

And yet we only hear lies about the former on cable news.
relevant to the debate over whether we should keep funding DHS without reforms and accountability for how out of control their spending is

I know people on Bsky know this but I hope it filters out: The feds are OCCUPYING the Twin Cities. This is a blockade, a siege. They are shutting down economic and civic activity. They are conducting "papers please" stops. They are criminalizing being a bystander/witness.

You could be next.

The article says immigration agents took this kid's phone.

And then the phone showed up for sale at a vending machine near an ICE facility?

Did ICE agents STEAL and SELL this kid's PHONE?

This obviously isn't the worst of what's described in the article. But it tells you something.

The Pentagon used a secret aircraft painted to look like a civilian plane in its first boat attack, according to officials briefed on the matter.

The laws of armed conflict forbid combatants from feigning civilian status.

That is a war crime called "perfidy."

Heads up, Twin Cities—

CBP agent Timothy Donahue was photographed outside the Whipple building yesterday. In Chicago, he was documented aggressively detaining bystanders; also involved in at least one car crash.

Most importantly, he also brandished his gun at a crowd in Evanston on 10/31.

70% of ICE detainees have no criminal convictions, according to govt data.

Don’t fall for Trump’s lies about targeting the “worst of the worst.”

As ICE terrorizes cities to fill up detention centers, remember that some of Trump's major donors are private prison corporations.

One detail about the MPLS ICE invasion that I haven't seen many comment on: these goons drive like maniacs and they're eventually going to run someone over. They speed, run red lights every chance they get, and because they don't know the roads, they're constantly going the wrong way down one-ways.

People are chanting, "ICE out! Fuck ICE!"

Organizers are taking the street but it's a slow process because there is SO much ice (the water kind). People helping each other up left and right after slipping.
