This Machado / Trump Nobel prize thing is SO fucking stupid.

If Brandon Graham decided to give me his Super Bowl rings, does that somehow mean I was part of the Eagles squad that won Super Bowls 52 & 59?

NO, IT DOES NOT.

He's like a goddamn 2 year old. Shouldn't his supporters be embarrassed?

They had to *add* a non-smoking section to commercial flights. (Banning smoking on flights altogether came MUCH later.)
Without revealing your actual age, what's something you remember that if you told a younger person they wouldn't understand?

As we, the good people of America, remember J6 with horror and sadness, spare a thought for the residents of the city it happened in.

DC is often overlooked as a place where folks live, but this trauma happened to us, on our streets, in the place we call home.

And that night, after the terror and insanity at the capitol, these criminals dispersed, largely unmolested, into our streets, our restaurants, our hotels.

We in DC dealt with the clean up, mental and physical.

We dealt with and are continuing to deal with increased security

DC has about 700K residents, and a few million more in the surrounding area. This is our home. It’s not a punch line or a far away boogeyman.

After J6 there were no ‘DC Strong’ hashtags or athletes cussing on TV b/c America doesn’t think about us like that.

But we’re here. And today we’re sad.

We are being governed by the most corrupt, self-serving President this country has ever seen. DC has borne the brunt because we are not a state. The attempt to seize control of DC's public golf courses is another (small) example of how this harms regular people in DC and nationwide

I'm a broken record about this, but the suburban Americans who love to monger about how dangerous cities are cannot safely go for a walk in their own neighborhood bc of cars, and they all know it. Cities are far safer than suburbs and I'm sick of the anti-city propaganda pretending otherwise.
