After nearly a decade of advocacy, Cobb Park is partially open! 🌳

Starting today, the 2nd St NW gates are open sunrise to sunset — with paths, an open field, and a playground ready to go.

More to come this spring, but for now: enjoy!

"This resolution would cause significant uncertainty and chaos, but not for the federal government. The chaos would all be placed on D.C. It would change the rules in the middle of the game," says @alsobrooks.senate.gov. "It would [also] have a damaging effect on D.C.’s bond rating."

We spent the morning at the Potomac spill site, where elevated levels of E. coli, MRSA, and other bacteria pose a serious health concern for our region.

Your drinking water is safe.

Contact with the river water may not be right now.

Trash and recycling are still not back on schedule — and I know how frustrating that is.

I’ve been in direct contact with the Mayor, the City Administrator, and DPW to push for urgent fixes.

Now, ~ 80 seasonal leaf collection workers are being reassigned to full-time trash collection.

Happy to be part of & help lead tonight's meeting on the future of the SW Farmers Market, which has grown to be a beloved part of the neighborhood. The abrupt closure of the lot at 4th and M is frustrating, but we will find a new home for the market as soon as possible.

Heard from a lot of neighbors about these mountains of ice plowed into the intersection of 13th & D St NE yesterday morning. It’s wrong to do this; it’s dangerously blocking crosswalks and bus routes. I’ve spoken with DDOT & DPW and they are sending crews today to haul away.
So what’s the strategy @ddotdc.bsky.social? Bobcats cleared D St NE at 5 am on Sunday to move small snow piles to 13th St NE and D St NE creating MASSIVE piles making it MORE dangerous for people to cross the street. @cmcharlesallen.bsky.social

Trash collection is the #1 issue hitting my office right now, and it’s no surprise. It’s piling up in my own alley.

I’m pushing DPW to get this fixed. In the meantime, leave your cans out until they’re collected. DPW hopes to catch up this weekend and be back on schedule next week.
