Baldwin is, as usual, 100% on point.

The Blacksonian does a terrific job of curation & telling the stories behind exhibits. Among the BEST examples is explaining how chattel slavery developed, in part, to break burgeoning cross-racial class solidarity among impoverished laborers in the colonies.

What are we missing? Do we just need to back off and spend more time at the "look don't touch stage"? Give me all your best multi-cat advice and experience....

We've have Feliway diffusers on each floor of our row house. We've built a floor to ceiling fence that divides the house in half where they can see each other but not touch. We're feeding them both at regular times just on either side of the fence. We're space-swapping every 24 hours.

Then she does what she no doubt learned having to protect her tiny self and her kittens in the wild - she makes herself as BIG as possible and hisses back. Predictably, he freaks out.

Here's where we are now:

Our big boy is a big chicken, so he hisses and growls. The new little girl was in a feral colony, had multiple litters of kittens, and was then fostered in a house with 16 (!!) other cats for a few months. She mostly ignores his agitation, at least initially, until she gets fed up.

We gave it 6 months after she passed to see if boy kitty wanted to be a solo, and he's been acting lonely, so 3 weeks ago, we adopted a 3 year old girl.

We've been following Jackson Galaxy's process for introducing cats, and all was going well up until we hit the supervised visits stage.

Existing cat: 11 year old boy. We had a 10 year old girl who passed earlier this year. We adopted both as young adult cats (not littermates obviously) - her first, then a few weeks later, him. They had trouble getting along initially, but eventually (with the help of Feliway multi-cat), got there.

That seems like an excellent disguise to get your dinner to think you're just a harmless flower....

He's totally open to a "cold" contact from a stranger - that's how I met him (cold ask to contribute to a whitepaper on uses of blockchain for nonprofit membership associations). He's also super-nice.

If you're serious about that, you need to talk to this guy: www.linkedin.com/in/fenghou/

(I've known him since 2018 & he is one of *the* leading experts on uses of blockchain in education.)

And there are many other reasons I don't use LLMs. They're not reliable, they are built on theft, their creation incurs environmental costs & direct harm to people. The broader societal push to use AI for everything is destructive in countless ways & has horrifying political ramifications.
